Floyd is a savage announcing this "smack dab" in the middle of Wilder/Fury & Broner/Pacquaio.
The PBC strategy is suicidal

This type of stuff is more of the problems with PBC to me than doing PPV's. They are more inconsistent then waiting on your girl before you're going out for the night. They seem to wait til the very last minute to be ready to do anything.
And this type of sh^t seems to be going on at all levels of PBC's operation. Guys are fighting in random ass cities. Guys are fighting too many random ass opponents. There is lil to no narrative moving a fighter from this to that. Everything seems to almost happen on a whim. And this is the biggest problem PBC has had & continues to have & its the problem with Haymon in general with his social anxiety-like leadership example.Comment

Well it is UFC Strategy which just received a 1.5 Billion deal from ESPN. Like the UFC, some PPV's will be big and others won't
TV $ on top of whatever you make off of PPV Events allows more Activity
Internet Fans really don't matter, because most of the people doing all the complaining are the same people who ask for links come fight night or they not in the US anyway

Rizin has no US TV deal so this could be a play to get one.
Seems like super late timing doe so idk. I'd doubt a major channel like CBS would bite too even just for a one time event. I think it'd be a TNT-like channel best case. One of those basic cable type channels with some money behind them.
Doing a US PPV with Floyd vs a kickboxer on NYE does seem like its doing awful numbers doe so maybe the odds are it'll land on regular TV vs PPV.Comment

2015-2018 PBC
2018-2022 PBC
We will see if things are different now that they have a new (official non T.V. buy) home and more cash from SHO.Comment

I mean look at it already doe. Its still clusterf#ck-ish with no PPV price for Wilder vs Fury yet. The undercard isn't looking like anything different then we are used to so not breaking new ground there And we don't know if Pac vs Broner & Mikey vs Spence are PPV's or not for sure. This is same ole PBC sh^t. They'll probably put Mikey vs Spence on in NY instead of CA or TX. Some of this stuff was never dependent on a TV deal. Some of this sh^t never made sense.Comment

Even the Dec Fox card that date was around since the beginning of the year it just happened to fall after the deals were announced.
Once 2019 roll around then we can judge.
We haven't seen a schedule or prices or if those rumored fights are PPVs or what.Comment

I don't know what SHO's plan is in terms of PPVs, but FOX wants to replicate the UFC model in a way. They want to give the PBC brand a lot of air time and advertisement on FOX and FS1, while airing four or so PPVs a year. They want to build a few PPV stars out of this. Will it work? I don't know, but that is what they are aiming for, at least in the short term. As for SHO? They have always aired PPVs when they have had PPV stars. I think it is a safe bet that Wilder after the Fury fight, especially if it does decent numbers will be a PPV fighter from this point on. Aside from that, I don't see them being regular PPV players minus the occasional match ups they elect to put on there.
But why do you think PPV is dead? Because Canelo and possibly GGG will be off of them? So if that is the case, why is TR going to put Crawford on PPV in 2019? Why does Arum want to make GGG/Zurdo on PPV? I think it is a myth that PPV is dead, especially if they give you an option to purchase it through a stream like for GGG/Canelo. But what will be interesting is how they adjust their strategy if the PPVs prove to be a failure? Obviously for Pac nothing changes as he will continue being a PPV fighter, but then if Spence/Garcia does say 150k buys, can you really put Spence on PPV next fight as well? I mean they did with GGG doing those numbers, but I'd venture to guess you will have to put Spence on FOX/SHO the next time out and then try again on PPV after that.Comment

I'm just saying PBC has ALWAYS waited til the last minute to make fights known & they don't seem to have perfected where to put fights yet so I'm not hopeful PBC will suddenly quick dropping the ball.Technically that fight was made before the deal.

I mean its not like there wasn't upside in getting Texas fans coming to watch a show with the Charlo's &/or Spence in it more often pre-Fox deal. Hell man they don't even do THAT many Vegas shows, but they put two Ohio dudes in a Vegas fight & then was hyping the matchup as the Battle for Ohio. Smdh.
I mean this isn't rocket science type sh^t they are f#cking up.Comment
