Murat Gassiev. In Moscow. Mairis Briedis. In Latvia. First ever WBSS winner. Won all the belts in a division of sharks.

Let's just wait until after the 'Bomber' fight, ffs. If he loses to Bellew or goes life and death with him, then he can forget about FOTY. Heck, why not Josh Taylor, if he dazzles against Ryan Martin tonight, which will be three fine wins in 2018? Mon Josh!

If Wilder beats Fury decisively then he's my pick. I rate Fury and Ortiz more than Gassiev, Bellew and Briedis

Briedis,Gassiev,Bellew weren't out of the ring for 2,5 years and hadn't drug & alcohol issues.

I was thinking the same but Bud went undisputed in 2017.

It's gonna be tough to deny Deontay Wilder when he's knocked out undefeated Ortiz, undefeated Fury, and won the lineal heavyweight title.

I’m a Wilder fan but Usyk has to be the pick if he gets a non-controversial win against Bellew. Three great wins all in the home country of the opponent. If Wilder wins impressively vs Fury then he has to be second.

I suspect WBSS winners will dominate FOY conversations in coming years. At least one WBSS winner is likely to have two unification victories. Inoue looks like a good bet for 2019 if he beats E Rod and Tete/Burnett, then potentially moves up to 122 and gets a win.

I don't know about that. Ortiz hasn't really done much to deserve as much praise as he gets.

It's OK to be a casual but you shouldn't post on boxing forum
