Lara clearly got his ass kicked by Hurd... Fight wasn't even close.
Hurd out threw Lara, out landed Lara and dropped Lara... Lara looked like he was in a car accident after 12
Lara just needs to shut up and move on... Fight Jermell if he wants to get back on the mapComment

Lara lost fair and square
I am sorry, but I have Jarrett Hurd winning that fight with a razor thin decision without the knock down. Also, If Lara decided to box, I bet my 7 acres land that Jarrett Hurd was going to win with pressure alone, slowing Lara and hitting more frequently from round 7 forward. Jarrett Hurd is a beast and have the Saiyan 3 in him.

"Now that Hurd is injured and our rematch will be pushed back - the fight to make is me versus Charlo. It's a fight that makes sense, two of the best versus each other and another great fight for the fans. Charlo is a friend and former stablemate - but that doesn't mean anything... this is boxing and it's a business. I'm ready to fight Charlo anytime! I hope he's also willing to fight the best," Lara told BoxingScene.com.
Former WBA, IBO junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (25-3-2, 14 KOs) is ready, willing and able to challenge WBC junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo (31-0, 15 KOs) as soon as possible. Lara has been out of the ring since April, when he lost his two titles in a close twelve round split decision to IBF champion Jarrett Hurd at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Literally everyone, including Hurd himself, admit it was a hell of a close fight. Then to top it off, Lara tried to fight Jermell when Hurd announced he was getting surgery, but Jermell said no and is instead fighting some bum in December.Comment

Hurd put a serious beating on Lara. it was back and forth but Laras punches didn't have damaging effects due to Hurd's huge size advantage. i dont think Lara had a choice but to stand and trade because of Hurd's suffocating pressure, he wasn't allowing Lara to stick and move.Comment

I had Lara winning but the fight was so close, that no one can say it was a robbery. The real winner that night was me and the rest of the real boxing fans out there.
The 12th round of that fight was three of the most intense minutes ever.
Hopefully we get the rematch someday soon.Comment

It was 117-111 with the knockdown at best
Hurd is very humble... That's the only reason he possibly, if he did say, it was close. Hurd is also on record saying he clearly won
I agree that Lara is willing to fight Jermell, but he needs to get him in the ringComment

I just have to add, that watching Hurd's fights, I have absolutely no idea how he is a super ww/junior mw. The guy towers over everyone and is built too. The guy looks like he is a cruiserweight. I think him and Lara were about the same weight in the ring, but watching it, it looked like Hurd should have been three divisions higher than Lara. They are the same weight, but man, looks can be deceiving.
And kudos to Hurd, he also showed tremendous heart. Everyone watching the fight saw that Hurd felt Lara's punches. Very rare to see two top notch fighters, stand toe-to-toe trading shots like that for 12 rounds. Both fighters deserve much credit.Comment
