    restoring old fight films ?

just seen footage of what kiwi director peter jackson can do restoring vintage 100 year old ww1 footage it looks amazing colourised and cleaned up the motion slowed down to normal speed

now wouldnt it be AMAZING if some of the classic old fight films were given the treatment, they have the technology and could do it but it would take a huge fight fan with money backing to get it done but hell wouldnt it be great seeing dempsey louis johnson etc etc looking this good it would give such a different view of them especially with the fast motion speed of old films corrected to normal would be fantastic.

How old are we talking about? I know some fights that happened in the 80s and 70s have been remastered. Example, the Frazier Ali 3 and Foreman fight is shown in HD by ESPN. I've not seen it done for the Louis, Marciano and Robinson era but if they managed to colourise and remaster them it would be fantastic!!!

That's pretty good, but it's not really approaching the quality of the remastered WWI footage.

I suspect right now the cost of doing full fights would be prohibitive, but also that the parts of the remastering than can be automated will become far more affordable over the next few years so I would imagine it will be done eventually.

Its easy to do but very tedious to do.

You can try your hand at it, get affect effects and view a tut on youtube on how to do it (its pretty easy) and start doing it, lil by lil everyday or when you have free time you can get some done yourself.

its tedious cause its literally frame by frame, given a typical film has 29 frames a second, for a 10 minute video thats 15600 frames you have to shift through to colorize move points etc etc.
