This is chess not checkers.. they don't have to fight top dawgs every time.. this is just a promo for charlo.. a little more extra exposure.. against easily opposition..

I think Willie has a good shot to legitimately beat Charlo here, even if he doesn't get the decision on the cards. Good fight for Charlo as a step up, and then also kind of low risk of being given the loss since Monroe can't knock him out and Charlo should be competitive enough to get a few legit rounds which could be 'stretched' to 7 rounds on a couple judges' cards.

Monroe's problem vs GGG was he couldn't really outbox him and he definitely couldn't hang with him power wise. His problem vs Saunders was Saunders bullied him a little bit and just outboxed him a little bit as well over the course of the fight. They were basically bad matchups for him. Guys who could use their size and box as well as him.

I think it's pretty clear Charlo is not in that class as a pure boxer...he has great athleticism and quickness but I think Monroe will outbox him as long as the fight lasts. Charlo of course has good power, but not sure what his power really is at 160 yet. If he doesn't get to Monroe early and Monroe stays focused I think you will see a 8-4 type Monroe victory...which will probably be given to Charlo.

I think Monroe should legit do his talking in the ring. And like realllllllly "talk" in the ring. Cuz I definitely think he's a talented guy, but he boxes like he doesn't know what winning a round looks like or how to go about it or sometimes he seems unsure that punching the other guy is what'll win him a fight. I couldn't have been more disappointed in how he fought in the BJS fight & idk how he could look himself in the mirror or continue his career after that fight. He needs to be for real or gtfo of the sport.

I don't think Monroe really gots the heart for this game...which is weird to say cuz I thought he showed more heart to get as far as he did vs GGG as competitively as he did which no one was really doing very much of back then. Often I feel like these guys who show some big heart once get into a mindset of "I don't wanna do that sh^t again" & just don't suddenly turn into Gatti in every fight or when push comes to shove. I think Monroe might be one of those guys that his hardest fight made him a weaker fighter instead of a stronger fighter like it does to other guys.

Who is Mall supposed to fight? Everyone above him is on "the other side of the street".

But yea I think Mell shoulda been fighting better guys a long ass time ago, but for right now I think Harrison is fine cuz there isn't a ton of options right now. The fight I wanna see, Mell vs Hurd, isn't likely to be made right now cuz Hurd just had surgery on his shoulder & I'm feeling like they are doing a softer touch for him next. That said if they got Hurd fighting a indie ranked top 15 type guy on that Dec. 1 card which I believe is his next fight then idk why they just didn't make Mell vs Hurd on that Dec. 1 card or for this Charlo twin card.

Hopefully Jermall rids us of this guy he's absolutely unbearable too watch and does nothing but come to survive in big fights. I'm *****ed if I know how he keeps landing these big fights either, certainly not deserved or earned.
