Hes sub for Fury, then off to Matchroom. Doesnt really make sense him beating one of the guys theyd hope to build into a Wilder opponent.

they fought on sep 8th. 3 months isn't enough time? they are heavyweights. those guys suck anyway but yeah that argument doenst make any sense.

Kaufman makes sense he is a tough fringe guy who Ortiz should handle. It is pretty much to be expected, the other option would have been like Washington since Breazeale won't fight Ortiz right now, Charles Martin just had a tough loss, Kownacki was ina tough fight and he probably isn't ready for Ortiz (and he can draw a bit), Whyte had other plans with Chisora, as does Parker who needs a win.

Pretty much at that point you are down to the Kaufman's of the world so while not a great fight throwing on a bigger undercard is what is generally done, it helps Ortiz keep his name out there in a fight he should look impressive is a big opportunity for Kaufman. Never forget this in boxing looking impressive against someone good is best but just looking impressive is generally good enough because most people don't really know the difference between a guy like Kaufman or Whyte (in the US)

Seems the intention is to match them next, right?

You know who else has enough time to fight Ortiz??? The guy who he accepted to fight either on this card or the 22nd in the UK. Why isn't everybody calling out whyte and Hearn for ducking, and making Ortiz fight a guy like this???

Ortiz is a joke! He should just retire now he's never getting another title fight.

Ortiz has been unbelievably poorly managed throughout his career.

Is he 100% with Eddie/Dazn post-Dec 1 you think? I heard Eddie mention him in a vid.

But yea like I said it was too optimistic a matchup. A guy can dream can't he? lol.

Rewatched the Whyte v Chisora match the other day, having originally scored it to Del by a round, paying more attention I gave it by 4 rounds to Whyte, think it was a much better win than he gets credit for. His jab was very good throughout, as was his fighting heart.

That said Chisora definitely hurt him several times. But I believe a fit Del is a handful for anyone.
