Sweet. I can get behind Golden Boy on DAZN. For $9.99 a month it's not a bad deal. We're already getting Matchroom Boxing and now Golden Boy boxing. Should be great for boxing fans and those involved in general.

With Golden Boy having their own fights on various outlets, it’s says a lot about their true potential as a promoter having to rely on Eddie Hearn. Canelo is better off commiting to his 4 fights and going solo. A fighter of that magnitude certainly doesn’t need GBP.

You so realize this is 4 fights AFTER his DAZN deal is done right?

Gomez the president of Golden Boy told the world last week that part of this deal with DAZN Canelo extended his deal with Golden Boy 5 years this latest interview he says it covers the entire DAZN contract and then 4 fights on top of that. He's not leaving Golden boy and why would he? They did right by him and had his back through the clenbetrol scandal and got him paid.

That's a ridiculous deal, who the heck funds DAZN?

          That's $365mill for 11 fights, that's $33.1 mill per fight. Damn.

Broner would call this a Slave contract, I agree, 100 mill for a Mayweather rematch, that's a bit under a 1/3rd of this long term contract :-p

Why is Canelo even entertaining the idea of a rematch with Floyd unless he's about to lose 20 pounds.

DAZN is owned by the Perform Group who have deep pockets. I think they are a main investor in Spotify

They plan to take as many of the big sports in the US, just like they have in Germany and Japan.

I understand that. The contracts won’t amount to more than 5-7 years max. You believe Canelo can’t fight beyond 35? Canelo would make far more on his own, Eddie Hearn or even under Al Haymon.

Really because I'm pretty sure NOBODY on Hearn entire roster is making money like Canelo and getting 365M contracts and nobody on the PBC roster is seeing anywhere near the money Canelo is getting either. So I'll ask again why should he leave when he was already making the most money and just signed the richest contract in sports history? Look homie today is the wrong day to make the argument that Golden Boy isn't a good fit for Canelo after they just got him paid. And clearly you didn't realize that the deal Canelo just signed locked him up over 5 years with Golden Boy and thought it was just for 4 fights. He's not hitting the free agent market for a long time. If he wasn't happy with Golden Boy he would of left now and not reup with them why wait 5 years to move on?

Canelo only fits well in GBP. that way he can communicate comfortably in his own language with Oscar and Gomez. I said something about Canelo been Loyal to people around him (Promoters, trainers and such) and some dumb Åss refuted my assessment, saying that, that was dumb business and loyalty do not go well together. Well we see that bot GBP and Canelo partnership have done extremely well, needless to say that dumb @ss is a GGG groupie.
