Showtime and CBS need to take action on this ASAP. This is clearly tortious interference. Hearn think he’s slick this will make fighters want to sign with DAZN and Hearn, just another illegal way to poach fighters. They are damaging Showtime by making these claims

Showtime won't be leaving boxing anytime soon if ever.Comment

All these apps in the end will wind up costing more money and further prevent us from getting the fights we want. Hearn is already telling you this when he says if you want to fight X person, you have to be on DAZN. So that means Charlo vs all the guys we want to see doesn't happen unless he signs with DAZN. this is going to be bigger bull**** than it is now. Watch.Comment

Really? Mind you we don't see the ins and outs of US TV network business over here in the UK, we just remember the big nights they've put on over the years that were re-televised over here.
It just seems a shame to throw away a heritage of Lewis, Tyson, RJJ, DLH and Mayweather to name but a few - to concentrate on movies or TV shows that most will stream online anyway. Not sure what things are like in the US, but it's far easier to get a free stream of a movie/TV show than live sports in the UK. Live sports are pretty much locked out of free streams over here.Comment

Absolutely. The writing was on the wall for anyone looking at the wall for HBO Boxing. HBO honestly was trending down for a full two decades basically & they were in the game 45 years so half their run it was obvious HBO wasn't putting the same love into boxing they were in HBO Boxing's prime (the late 80's & 90's).
I don’t understand why Showtime didn’t go full throttle to get Canelo and Golovkin. If they had, DAZN would have been neutrailsed and Showtime would’ve had every division under lock.
Another thing I don’t understand is why don’t Showtime have contract with their fighters, it would prevent Hearn from making offers to Showtime FIghtersLast edited by Manlikefemi; 10-22-2018, 12:20 PM.Comment

They need to respond fire with fire and come up with a strong schedule for 2019 with as little as PPV’s as they can.
Maybe also try to lure back Floyd MayweatherComment

Who cares if DAZN has all these cards if they're garbage. Isn't that what people were complaining about when PBC was putting out all these cards. DAZN's last 2 Eddie Hearn cards have been garbage. Who the hell wants to see women's boxing as a co-main event? Who puts on Vargas/Dulorme as a main event? That was the most competitive fight Eddie Hearn has put on and it was between two fringe contender that will never will a belt again.Comment

Showtime PPV still offers unlimited money potential. DAZN’s Canelo is liimited to a set fee for every fight.
So that deal isn't as flat as some people are suggesting. And you can just imagine the potential upside here cuz they are paying Canelo $66M & if they get 1M permanent subscribers off the strength of signing Canelo they would be taking in $120M aka $54M in profit a year just off of Canelo. I'm sure Canelo will see a nice chunk of that & I've said I bet the true value of that deal could be 50%+ that $365M number if DAZN becomes a success.

Showtime, not unlike HBO, isn't in competition with DAZN as much as boxing fans wanna believe. Showtime is a entertainment platform & DAZN is a sports platform.
So Showtime gots more sh^t to be concerned about then what a startup streaming sports platform is doing. Thats why Hearn & Arum aren't THAT wrong in their believe that Showtime could be on their way out of boxing cuz idk that Showtime Boxing can compete with 2 groups that are more focused on boxing as a more primary income vs Showtime where boxing is almost a vanity project or side thing to their main goals & projects.
Another thing I don’t understand is why don’t Showtime have contract with their fighters, it would prevent Hearn from making offers to Showtime FIghters
And honestly if not for that Fox deal Haymon has I'd say the best move for him would be to sign his own deal with DAZN. Haymon, Hearn & Oscar all on the same platform would be epic for boxing & make so many fights that would be hard to make right now 100% doable on that platform.Comment
