Fighting Wilder auto lost him the mandatory. Win or lose he wouldn't have been mandatory anymore. He just failed the test before the fight happened so was removed quicker.Comment

A pitiful lie, Luis Ortiz fought in GayJ's undercard when Joshua defended the IBF vs. Eric Molina. Why is Molina good enough, who was Deontay's leftovers and even Eddie Hearn dismissed publicly, but 'King-Kong' was not worthy at a shot?! LAUGHABLE.Comment

If Ortiz hadn't bailed in favour of going the WBC route maybe he'd have got his shot? Although he'd not impressed against Allen or Scott as posters above have observed.Comment

He didn't have a mandatory position to lose when he fought Wilder in March. Also, fighting a bout not sanctioned by the WBA doesn't automatically cost you the mandatory position, you are only automatically disqualified if you are unavailable to fight the champion due to fighting the bout. Essentially, he could have lost to Wilder and still been deemed the official contender for the WBA if they deemed him still worthy.Comment

If he won he'd be a title holder, which loses him his mandatory spot. If he lost, he lost and loses the mandatory spot. It just so happens he failed a test before the fight happened and lost it anyway. FFS, think........Comment
