Look at the damn roster, at this point just keeping them active should be the key. Both networks will get more than enough big names and good match ups. I also don't think the fighter will just be locked to one network. So Spence can fight on SHO in December and then on FOX on May.

I think Showtime views boxing way differently than HBO did especially at the end.

HBO was viewing it as a drain on resources that was not helping it against Netflix, because they want to spend the money on shows and documentaries that are very expensive to produce. HBO is good at that stuff so I can see why but they wasted more on one season of Vinyl than they did on several years worth of boxing.

Showtime sees boxing as something that makes it unique and different probably even more so now that HBO is out. They see value in boxing because while making good shows isn't easy it is something every content provider is putting out there and there are a lot more misses than hits.

I don't see why Showtime would get out unless they start to look at it HBO's way which could happen at anytime, but within 12 months of right now they are planning farther than that and it looks like boxing is in their plans.

who is running them out of boxing? we are. the market and their customers. TV is going to be a thing of the past in 10 years. it makes no sense at all to let somebody else dictate what you watch, when, and make you watch 15 minutes of commercials and promotions out of 60 minutes of programming.

i'll miss the production quality, but i am excited to see boxing start to move on from HBO and an exclusively paid for model. arum is dead wrong about showtime bowing out, they will be taking over in the next five years. these guys can break even all year, it doens't matter if you put on 2-3 major ppv a year and they sell a million + buys at $80 a pop.
I think you have a point about us fans. The issue i have is the demand = more money involve, which means fans forking out even more money on top off subscription fees. If the executives, promoters, managers, fighters take a bit less then maybe the fans wouldn't be dying to get a stream here and there.

Sho ratings suck but espinoza will convince his bosses to keep spending the money they made from floyds fights then eventually theyll run out.

Streaming is the future but not anytime soon. I mean SHO and FOX and ESPN have streaming apps.
Television stations aren't goin anywhere. Everyone I know with stteaming services still have cable TV. Once you start seeing networks disappear than worry. Until then, they're not goin anywhere.

Sure I want them active as a boxing fan. I would venture to guess that the Networks will want the biggest draws aka Pacman, Spence, Wilder, Thurman, Broner and Floyd if he comes back.

So it would be interesting to know if they are splitting the A sides evenly between Showtime and Fox or if they are going to be shared between them or one network gets all of them. In the press release, this information hasn't been explained.

They won't be signing network exclusive deals though. So not like Spence can't fight on both. Haymon will give both sides enough big name fighters and fights. SHO can have a little WW tournament going on, while FOX can get the 154 pounders or the FWs. Both networks are investing big money to the point you can't just give one all the big fights and the others less quality.

Premium cable like showtime and hbo are losing subscribers, network tv will never go man, only premium channels that you gotta pay ten to twenty bucks a month for
