    No, it’s an opinion.

The boxing HOF is a joke, and so is this article. Rocky Balboa is a HOF’r, but Ricky Hatton isn’t. TFOH with that ****** s.hit.

Gatti is in the hall of fame and thats for his popularity not for his skills. If they consider popularity and not just skills, then why wouldnt Hatton be put in? I think he is a shoe in.

I think you can make a case for Hatton.

If we look at popularity, he was a hugely popular fighter that dragged more supporters to Vegas than anyone else. Gatti made HOF partly on his popularity.

Yes he lost the two biggest fights of his career. But so did everybody else who fought Mayweather or Pacquiao at that time. May and Pac weren’t just the best fighters of their era, they are among the best fighters of ANY era. And although Hatton came up short he deserved to be sharing a ring with them. And he did so above his natural weight against May and in two huge PPV’s.

His unique personality adds some weight too.

What’s missing is one or two more victories at 140 against fellow HOF’ers that would have enhanced his legacy before he jumped up to fight Mayweather.

The Ottke decision against Reid was scandalous. Actually put me off boxing for a little while. For that alone he doesn’t deserve to go in. 😉

Hatton should be in there, probably a top 10 UK fighter of all time. Huge following, made Tsyzu who was ring champion at the time quit on his stool, Beat Castillo, Collazo, Urango, Massua- all really solid wins. At 140 he was brilliant, at 147 he only lost to ATGs Mayweather and Pacquiao (the Pacquiao fight was lost during the camp I think, knew Hatton was done for as soon as I saw the ring walk).

I’ll ignore the Sechenko comeback for now...

Very good point. Not sure how racism fits in there. But i agree with all else. Hatton, one of my all time favorites.

You are right and I still wondering why Gatti is in there. Hatton is better than him any day of the week. Let's be honest. Cotto is going in whether we like it or not.
