I would rate it an A / A-. He's definitely one of the best fighters to mix offense and defense simultaneously.
I think his defense is solid A. Who has a better defense than he does?

Not even close. In 2012 Mayweather had a plus/minus of +30, Lomachenko is +17.3. Mayweather fought better comp too. Don't insult Mayweather. Compubox is bull**** though.

          I would say it's an A-

The reason for the minus is because he can occasionally get caught, but just because he's so offensive minded. That's a good thing in my opinion.

8 of 10. Guys like Martinez and Salido hit him a lot more then they should have. But, his movement still gives him excellent defense. Not at a Mayweather or Ward level though.

He has excellent defense. Probably the best in the game currently which is impressive for such an aggressive and offensively active fighter.

I think he is very good defensively. He just has very short arms and has to constantly get in harms way to score on longer armed opponents.

When he fought a short arm dude like Russell and could jab from outside more, his defense looked incredibly good.

Very good though he can be hit. The thing is, often when he is hit, it's a mis-hit. He's like one of those successful pitchers who rarely strikes out people, he limits hitters to pop ups and weak ground balls.

Good but he's no defensive guru like Floyd or Rigo. He's more offensive minded so he's there to be hit.
