What your ****** ass fails to realize is that in many of those yrs he fought up to 6x per yr,& back then fighters would regularly fight far more often than they do now,as well as used to have their promoters/sanctioning bodies pick opponents. Bottom line was Chavez Sr fought literally everyone there was to fight,he fought 6x the same yr he fought Whitaker.

yes there are soft touches, like mayweather fighting berto after Pacquiao. Or pac fighting algieri. Or Oscar fighting Campas. Etc. But then there's fighting a guy with a 4-3 record when you're a 20 something year old undefeated world champion with 50 plus wins. That's beyond a soft touch. I didn't question who he's faced during his era, I just pointed out that of course he'd be ok with Canelo taking this fielding fight because he himself took much easier options in between bigger fights.
