Porter won a vacant strap.. therefore his first defence should be against the next ranked in the org which is Vargas. Let Berto have his shot if needs be but that should never been made for a second mandatory if they planned on installing the emeritus as a mandatory too.

This is ****** cause Berto should not be getting another shot plus they should of considered Spence, Vargas or Ugas but Porter must not want Spence if so try to get the WBC on board for that fight cause he is in line for that belt plus could feel like he may get knocked out by Spence.

But Spence may actually face Crawford next if he gets no fight but it would be a good look for Porter to defend on the undercard of Wilder vs Fury against Spence Ugas or Thurman if he took that fight

This should be good news for Porter. He should be able to spark both these guys out. Shawn should thank the WBC for a two fight gift wrap. He already defeated them both before except only one was considered official; Which was the Andre Berto fight

Spence is actually a titleholder for another sanctioning body; The IBF. He is their 147lbs champion. Therefore, the WBC didn't bother to even consider mentioning him. The other guys mentioned are not titleholders. That's why they were mentioned.

Porter couldn't unify with Spence because he won a vacant title that was not lost in the ring. It was lost due to Keith Thurman's ring inactivity. Once he clears up his mandatory challengers, then he would be considered their real champion and then would be free to unify with Errol Spence, Jr.

Porter already whooped Berto's ass ( I was at that fight) we don't need to see that again. I'd rather just see porter fight jessie Vargas anyway despite the draw while Thurman gets his tune up outta the way.
