I think he's the best Heavyweight ever but the guy has a lot of haters and then you have the elitist fan mentality"hur durr Mike Tyson the best? You must be casual hur durr" bs. So it is what it is.

Prime Mike Tyson beats any Heavyweight from any era except for the Super Heavyweights - Lennox Lewis, Vlad and Vitali Klitschko.

I wouldn't claim Tyson greater than lennox.
Lennox resume is greater than tyson. But Tyson did look great beating who he beat. And who would win prime Tyson v lennox people will always argue.
Tyson might not beat Lewis but he would likely beat other past greats who were half a foot taller with longer reach

You can *think* he's the best heavyweight ever but it's basically impossible to make a strong argument for it.

It also depends on how you measure it. He can't be GOAT based on résumé, based on heart, based on longevity, or fighting spirit.

The only real argument you can make is based on coulda shoulda wouldas, which is fine for a personal opinion but means nothing when trying to objectively rank someone.

He was the youngest heavyweight champ and unified the titles and he deserves credit for it but given other guys' resumes and circumstances it doesn't make him the GOAT. Maybe he's your favorite but he's not the best.

BoxRec has him at #15 heavyweight of all time, I think that's about right.

He's not even a top 10 heavyweight of all time. He was amazing to watch and has become a big part of the culture but there are much more deserving people who ought to be on that list.

I think Teddy's forgetting the Razor Ruddock fights. But generally speaking, he makes a strong argument

Agreed, Teddy likes to make big grandiose statements, but overall I think it's true.

Ehh, it's all subjective any way, we all have different criteria on p4p. I see it as different times, different eras.

But the impact he had on the sport can't be denied; just look at the current state of affairs in regards to the Heavyweight division right now, it's lackluster and not that many people really gives a **** ass about it.

The lower weights classes dominates now, today's Heavyweight division is irrelevant.

Because he's not a top 5 heavyweight all time. Plain and simple.

he'd murder wladimir. his chin is garbage for an elite historic HW.

but i don't think he'd beat a lot of the great HW who had a good chin and the right style. rid**** bowe, muhammad ali, george foreman, holmes in his prime, i'd pick them all to beat tyson. tyson was very limited. say what you want, being under 6' and giving up as much as a foot of reach is a huge deal. if he couldn't get you early on he would be fighting at a big disadvantage later in the fight when he was no longer the same puncher.
