keeping his fans happy by staying busy, similar to fighters of the past like louis bum of the month club, ali fighting the wepners and bugners of the world.....they were entertaining fights nonetheless, and in the end major fights happened soon after, i like the idea of fighters giving noobs chances like the noobs thrown into the coliseum

I agree nothing wrong with a stay busy quick turn around fight.

I personally think the fights sh.it but I get it. But having people here hyping this fight up like it’s decent is a joke and think that Canelo should get props by snatching a strap off a fighter who’s barely proved himself above domestic level and is the weakest strap holder in a relatively weak division isn’t something that should get props. 3 division champ though

First of GGG didn't know for certain that Canelo would definitely be suspended until April, which gave him weeks to promote and prepare for a new opponent.

Billy Joe already had a fight scheduled in June remember, plus Frank Warren was talking that whole "Billy Joe's not 100% healthy" bullsh&t. They only had weeks, remember.

Derevyechenko was too high-risk low reward to promote and prepare for in the matter of weeks.
