Fielding was hinting he had a big fight coming. I was thinking it may of been DeGale, which would of put a spanner in the works of the rumoured Eubank/DeGale fight.
Obviously not thugh, so I imagine the talk of DeGale/Eubank in December is true.Comment

By taking a fee to feed Fielding to Alvarez likely on HBO? lol.
Callum Smith took very little damage in his fight, the timing is similar enough to work, and he's THE ACTUAL WBA CHAMPION (with a shot for the WBC title in hand when he wants).
That would've been doing somethingComment

[QUOTE=bigdunny1;19168136]Name one thing I said that wasn't factual? GGG for over 5 years said he would move up to 168 instead he stayed fighting bums at 160. Canelo doing something GGG never did. 3 division champ and a new belt to add to the ones he took from GGG.
[/QUOTE
Because Canelo does not speak out of his @ss like Mr. anybody from 154 to 168 and never went down or up, yet remains at the same weight class, his whole career, waiting on smaller guys to come to him.
Canelo leads by example without too much fanfare and bla bla bla, he just goes on and do it.

I have it on ignore, but his crap keeps getting quoted so I end up reading it anyway. Regardless - here goes - I count GGGs title defenses only for the period that he was either the sole WBA champion or the 'super' champion - 15 defenses in all. I wouldn't consider Canelo to be WBA champ (if - when - he wins) because Smith is already the WBA super champ at that weight and super trumps regular. Nonetheless it is arguably a bold move (or maybe just a very smart one) which will doubtless add to Canelo's legacy even if their are currently tougher opponents at 160."SPOT QUIZ:
the following fighters are ranked higher at 168 than Fielding.....
Smith
Ramirez
Benavidez
Uzcategui
Groves
Degale
Dirrell
Eubank
considering that fact, would it be correct to refer to Canelo as a 168 "champion" should be beat Fielding.....?
btw, the possible answers are..... yes, or no
the answer to that question is LITERALLY as yes, or no..... as the answer to whether Golovkin's title defence run was legitimate
yes, or no ?" -aboutfkntime
Just in case you have him on ignore. He makes great pointsComment

Incidentally - does anyone know whether this counts as Canelo's allowed (per the WBC) voluntary defense? Technically he's not defending his MW title so there is the possibility that by the letter he could have this fight and then still have a voluntary defense of the MW title (possibly Lemieux) before being required to fight Jermall or GGG (or his WBA mando -depending on the rotation)Comment
