Useless info but Botha doesn’t deserve any credit. He is a loser period. What is he going to get credit for, losing 11 times and being stopped 9 times. There aren’t any moral victories for getting the sh@t beat out of you. Botha is a bum in the HOF of f@cking losers-GTFOH with that Botha sh@t!!!!

That uppercut was powerful but probably hurt Lewis hand more than Vitali head lol.

i just said he is the only guy who fought those big 4. Just because a guy loses doesn’t mean he was a bum. He was involved in some great fights. Tough SOB. Not many guys willing to fight that level of competition. A few of them fights were later in his career. The Briggs & Entienne fights were good scraps that he should of got the decision. The Grant fight was a solid bout of 2 vets past their best but it was a hell of a scrap. Did you watch any of them fights? A guy who loses once is a bum in so many eyes nowadays. Botha was a tough SOB who would fight anyone. Often going to a gun fight with a knife but he would stand in there & slug it out with anyone. Forget Parker, Carrion & Wawrzyk. Did you watch any of the other fights you listed? Sure Lennox crushed him but the rest were pretty good scraps...

You say its not lucky, so what would his plan be to win a rematch? Hope to score a cut again? That isnt a strategy, that is luck. Vitali was winning 4-2 at the stoppage.
Lewis got so lucky Vitali had weak skin . I guess GGG got lucky Rosado had weak skin too.

I remember being so impressed Lewis took the fight on 2 weeks notice too, you don't see nobody do that these days. While Vitali was winning the fight I really felt that Lewis came back well in the fifth and sixth round and yes that cut was grotesque the fight had to stop.
It was fun fight. Yes Lennox wasn't prime and despite everything he won and the fight was stopped justifiably. Depending how Lennox prepared for a rematch he easily could have been KO'd. I think he knew he was no longer mentally prepared to go through all the rigorous training. If he was not properly prepared he could have ended up out and that isn't a way to end a career. That happened to him in is prime a few times. Lennox made a smart decision.

I personally liked Vitali always more than Vladimir. Vlad will get the recognition based on his resume but I'd take Vlad over him any time. Vlad was more athletic but he didn't have that you need to kill me to beat me mentality that his older bro had IMO. The Saunders fights was the perfect demonstration of that for me, big bro came and beat up Vlad's bully.

Lennox joked to Vitali: "You could have been mayor and president....but not on that night. Yet it was my hardest fight!"
Brutal brutal fight. It's great to see Vitali joking and not as bitter as Hagler after all these years.
