Obviously. Some mfers were acting like GBP didn't have a valuable product. Getting GBP & obviously Canelo is an attractive deal for some mfers not even in the boxing business. You are guaranteed a certain audience with Canelo there.

      And does this part:
"If the decision is made to fight on this date, will HBO be involved?

"HBO has told us that they're committed to finish out the year and they would be available and that's going to be a decision Oscar's going to have to decide on what he wants to do," said Gomez."

Sound like the door is open on Canelo closing out HBO boxing if he were to fight in December? Or is the HBO Boxing budget spent already? Or could they put some of the PPV profit from September into a regular HBO Boxing event with Canelo to close things out in a bigger way? Or maybe even a PPV?
They already said about a week ago that if Canelo fights in December it'll be ppv... I just don't see it happening though.
You have the Liddell vs Ortiz ppv on November 24th then the Wilder vs Fury ppv on December 1st.
And of Canelo fights in December it'll be another ppv... I just don't see it happening...

Obviously, they'll go with the most profitable option, which could very likely be DAZN, but it could maybe backfire. A big chunk of canelos fans are old school Mexicans. I could tell you from experience, streaming is more of a millenials thing and older fans don't want to be bother with anything they're not used to. They want to turn on the TVS and watch boxing. Look at the linares fight over the weekend; only 18k viewers, and the fight was free on Facebook.

I believe streaming is the way of the future, but for older boxing fans might be harder to convince.

Not sure, i was just referring to the large Mexican population here in the US.

Showtime or espn would probably be the best. Do you think all these illegal Mexicans even know how to download and stream DAZN or ESPN +?

Golden boy would do well to get a TV deal on the back of Canelo that would give them enough capital and dates so they could go back to their glory days
