If GBP signs a deal with a new network to show their content it might be difficult or hard for GGG to just jump on board. If its with someone like DAZN, ESPN or Showtime it might be easier doe, but to me GGG needs to look out for GGG & not just chase Canelo like a stray dog hoping you hand him to a piece of steak.

I still feel like the best move for GGG is to do a one fight deal with ESPN (if he can swing that) to fight Murata in Japan. That should be a big fight there & it'll be for a title to make him a sexier opponent again for lotsa names. That enhances GGG's current value the most.

That said if he's only looking to fight once or twice more & wants that Canelo payday he should do w/e he has to do to get that fight including signing some sort of co-promotional deal with GBP to close out his career if necessary which would insure he goes wherever Canelo goes (assuming of course those hints that Canelo might wanna break from GBP aren't true, cuz thats problematic to GGG & Oscar).

Another subscription to rinse the fans.
That's what I'm waiting for, I already have both..

Would be game changer especially if it's Netflix.

That would be a ballsy thing to do.

          Risky but potentially very profitable.

They will go seperate ways. Wherever Canelo goes, GGG will go the opposite way. GGG won't get as much if he follows Canelo.

Obviously. Some mfers were acting like GBP didn't have a valuable product. Getting GBP & obviously Canelo is an attractive deal for some mfers not even in the boxing business. You are guaranteed a certain audience with Canelo there.

              And does this part:
"If the decision is made to fight on this date, will HBO be involved?

"HBO has told us that they're committed to finish out the year and they would be available and that's going to be a decision Oscar's going to have to decide on what he wants to do," said Gomez."

Sound like the door is open on Canelo closing out HBO boxing if he were to fight in December? Or is the HBO Boxing budget spent already? Or could they put some of the PPV profit from September into a regular HBO Boxing event with Canelo to close things out in a bigger way? Or maybe even a PPV?
If Canelo signs a PPV deal with HBO (need to re-read the press release, but I'm fairly certain that HBO has said that they are still open to hosting one-off events; 2-3 Canelo fights a year would seem par for the course), all the phantom calls/inquiries basically disappear overnight.

Does anyone think theres a possibility that GBP works with PBC or showtime by the way I don't think so but would be interesting if they do.

Also if GBP works with ESPN then its basically every USA promoter vs HAYMON at this point

I don't mean a PPV deal. I'm merely talking about one last Dec. fight that could be on regular HBO or could be a HBO PPV. Thats what I'm talking about.

I assume it to be obvious that HBO won't have any ongoing contracts with boxers, including Canelo, moving into 2019. If some Wilder vs Joshua, Canelo vs Mayweather II or another big monster movie title type fight is being discussed my guess is they would be in that discussion as they said previously.

Why would he sign a PPV deal if HBO is gettin out of Boxing?

This streaming thing isn't even its toddler phase yet obviously. This sh^t is gonna change how people view & watch sh^t. A fully customizable experience is what this is heading towards.
This is so true man. I have cancelled my traditional tv cable, and now leverage my amazon prime for content since I am a subscriber to prime anyway. Add to that Hbo comes free w my cell service, and I subscribe to showtime directly. I get everything I need for less than half of the costs I was paying before. Not service charges for extra boxes in other rooms. Just throw a Roku on and go. Traditional cables days are numbered. Count on it.
