Comments Thread For: Canelo's Television Future To Be Decided Soon

So with HBO deciding to get out of the boxing business in 2019, that leaves the games biggest pay-per-view star, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, as a free agent of sorts. Right now, Golden Boy Promotions, is sifting through various offers. ''We've been getting a lot of calls, we're going to sit down with him, [Golden Boy CEO] Oscar [De La Hoya] and myself - and analyze everything but there's a lot of offers out there," confirmed the president of Golden Boy, Eric Gomez, to BoxingScene.com.

"There's some that do boxing, there's others that don't do boxing but are interested," Gomez explained further.

    Hmmmmm. Interesting.

Because of Oscar's previous conflicts I'm sure that he would rather go with Match Matchroom but that would put Canelo in the path of Demetrius and Danny Jacobs. I'd be surprised if he goes with Espinoza at Showtime and that leaves ESPN as his most viable option.

It won't be long before we see Amazon and Netflix enter boxing.

In the UK, Amazon has won one of the six Premier League football (soccer) packages ahead of Sky/BT.

Another subscription to rinse the fans.

              My guess is
              MTV
              Bravo
              TLC

One of those channels if not SHO or ESPN.

Wherever Canelo goes, Golovkin will follow.
