I could tell you the same thing about sports writers. The thing is these are some of the best and most relevant fighters past and current some hall of famers some who have been very critical of Alvarez like Khan and Morales. Not so with most media, I dont think I ever saw a critical article on Golovkin by them which would question their objectivity.

I can only go with what I saw. I saw Golovkin winning a close fight with his jab and intelligent ring management. Yeah Canelo landed flashy punches but I thought that Golovkin made use of the ring better than Canelo did. I will fault Golovkin for not listening to Sanchez and going to the body. It didn't cost him the match IMO.I could tell you the same thing about sports writers. stop crying willya

"I believe that he erased the issues that he had in May, Sanchez said during the post-fight press conference. What a great champion he is. He’s the champion today. But that’s the kind of fight that I expected, that’s the kind of fight that the fans expected.....
..... and when I talked to Gennady all along this training camp, I explained to him that I thought Canelo was gonna stand and trade with him. “So in the fight, I was trying to have Gennady make it a fight. Instead of allowing Canelo to rest, I wanted him to fight more."
Golovkin fell short, deal with it !
Sanchez admitted that Golovkin did not win the fight.....

I thought Alvarez won based on harder punches Il take a hook over a jab any day, better body work, better defense, I dont buy for a second the hbo compubox stats because like the commentators they are hbo after all. Alot of those jabs were blocked or dodged and the proof is in Alvarez's face afterwards and the judges agreed.I can only go with what I saw. "we wanted Golovkin to do a lot of different things, Sanchez said during the post-fight press conference...... But when theyre in the ring, theyre gonna do the things that they see available to them.
Canelo fought the fight that he needed to fight today to win.

go and convince Sanchez that his guy won, and then come back and try to convince us lolComment

Hell yeah GGG avoided Canelo in G's prime! Remember, when he got in the ring with Canelo after the Khan fight and told Canelo, "Khazaks don't F around", and later on gave Canelo his belts and fought Brook instead...
Also, remember that time Ward wanted G to sign a contract with no set date but G was about to fight that bum Lemiuex and won by a lucky KO, well even though a month after that fight Ward announced he had to move to 172, why didn't the coward GGG not accept the fight at 172?
That ducker!Comment

great to hear former pro's on the forum and in the mailbag
but jeez, they really should know how this game works by now
they talk about A-side, but then hold a pity-party....
when a 153lb SUPERSTAR says this....
"all of my future middleweight fights will happen at catchweight"
and you say this.... " no thanks !! "....
then you KNOWINGLY, and WILLINGLY, walked away from that fight
THAT, is how it works.... and I kinda think they know that
especially if - before and after - you ran around saying this.....
" anyone from 154 - 168 "
he did not duck you, you avoided him.... clear as a bell
Hopkins did not say " no thanks " to De La Hoya.... did he?
and by the same token....
if, after running around for FIVE YEARS saying this....
" anyone from 154 - 168 ".... you totally refuse to negotiate on weight with a 155lb SUPERSTAR.... but then a few months later insist that you are willing and able to fight at 154 but nobody will step up....
.... then you KNOWINGLY, and WILLINGLY, walked away from that fight as well
when you COULD have taken both of those fights, but you CHOSE not to.... that is on you
Canelo did not duck Golovkin, he fought him twice....
Golovkin could have had that fight earlier if he was willing to be a man of his word.... well, he wasn't willing to be a man of his word.... so when he refused to negotiate with Canelo, he consigned himself to wait until Canelo moved up....
blaming someone else for your decisions, is totally ******ed
only kids run around blaming someone else for a decision THEY made
Golovkin is 100% responsible, therefore accountable, for his average resume'.... and for the fact that those fights did not happen earlier, because that was his decision
/pity party

Wow! The Canelo hatred is unreal and pathetic. Canelo was only dominated once fighting wrong fight at an inexperienced 23 vs Floyd. Canelo was not an Olympian, he worked his way up the ranks carefully but deservedly and the results are a testament to his dedication and will.Comment
