Is that was you took from that statement? He means becoming world champion and consensus number 1 in his division. That’s the lifetime ambition.

Damn, British boxing at Super Middle is thriving. Got Rocky Fielding holding the WBA regular, and possible chasing the rematch with Callum. Also got John Ryder coming off a great couple of wins and looking for a title shot. Then still got James DeGale hanging about, and Chris Eubank Jr. I'd like to see maybe Callum-Eubank Jr., then DeGale-Groves II. The winners of those two could then meet. If Ryder gets past his next opponent, he will also be knocking on the door.

Smith impressed big time !! With his size and power he’s gonna be hard to beat at the weight . I had groves ahead before the ko but it could have been scored either way . Close fight and class Finnish fair play

Good fight but a terrible card / broadcast ...
Same here. After a great first half of the year in predictions, I am in kind of a slump. Truly thought Groves would fight well enough to keep Smith at bay and win 8 of 12 rounds easily.

Great effort by Callum. Watched for his opening, and pounced on it. Kept pressure on him. When the 168 tournament was announced, it was not looked at as a great draw. While the CW was a lot more fun and had almost every top name, this was an enjoyable ride. Happy for Smith. He seems like a true fighter.

I had been losing bets throughout September. But when I saw the face to face a few days ago I was sure that Smith would knock Groves out, I picked him to win by KO in the second half at 6.50 and am glad I did.

Groves is good, but not great. Wins over Chudinov and Eubank Jr are not enough for me to consider him top class.

THIS is a GGG ESPN fight, soft touch, this kid is a very low level of competition, but he is a big name in the UK now, it will be a nice gate, the UK TV Money will be on point, and a win makes GGG the man at 168.

                Low level competition?

He's number one at 168 after beating the man who was number 1- George Groves.

Get the **** out of here.
