There must be a way that DAZN can cover PPV, or else they wouldnt be talking of taking over. Mikey Garcia said in talks hes had with Hearn that theres certain ways he wasnt allowed to reveal how bigger purses can be had
Would 3 million pay for a $10 Canelo PPV?

Hate to say it, BUT, those YouTube kids shown how the money can be made on YouTube for fights.Comment

Comcast bought a 40% controlling stake of Sky off Fox (Murdoch) this week.Itll change nothing, Sky and DAZN are separatie eni****** also.We know that both Showtime and ESPN has PPV distribution but DAZN does not. Their Pay per view distributor is Sky Sports; Which I have heard by the way that the American based cable giant Comcast is interested in acquiring. If that happens that could put the DAZN out of business.Comment

I guess it would depend on the fight. I mean Canelo vs GGG generated I believe $88M in PPV revenue. So for that fight to make sense for just that one month (cuz who knows what the conversion rate would be for people who got DAZN just for Canelo & those who kept it post-the Canelo fight) that'd need to have 8.8M people watching the fight on DAZN. But maybe Canelo vs David L only does like 400k if it were only on regular PPV that'd be right in the $30M ($32M to be exact) ball park & would only require 3.2M fans watching DAZN.Nah no extra, just a one shot. How much value would Canelo add to them. Lets say they give him $30mil for a card vs Lemieux. How many new subscribers does that bring in, lets say 33% dont unsubscribe. Does it cover the $30mil.
The $10 PPV idea is great though, but it goes against theyre entire ethos
Although thats not taking into account the rest of the month of boxing obvious. But I think there are variables we aren't counting to like the money it'd generate in other countries version of DAZN too.
As to the value Canelo could add I've always heard that 1%-10% is in the range of a respectable conversion rate so if we are to believe Eddie that 1M people watched Joshua vs Povetkin across all platforms & for the sake of the argument lets say thats the current subscriber base on their platforms that show boxing. So Canelo would in this example be adding 2M new subscribers (1M to 3M) than it seems like the expected # of cats sticking around post-this Canelo fight range would be 20k to 200k which means $2.4M-$24M extra per year.
Idk if I'm missing something with this thought process or not & I could very well be cuz I'm just waiting for this Groves vs Smith fight to start (And it probably has my DAZN stream just sucks AGAIN lol, was cool til the main event guys were walking to the ring).Comment

I agree. DAZN is Eddie Hearn's international subscription based online boxing stream service. However doesn't Eddie Hearn still has to go through Sky sports in order to distribute his Pay per views domestically in the U.K. Though; Which Comcast now currently owns a 40 percent stake in it?Comment

3 million × $10= $30 million
400,000 ppv × $75= $30 milliom
PPV sounds like the better bet to meComment

Yes, understand DAZN have all the normal cards but ppv can go to anyone. So far, DAZN appear to be picking them up anyway though? Bellew usyk and obviously the Joshua fight.I agree. It depends if people stay subscribed. If DAZN end up with 3 million a month subscription they then have a 30 million a month income or 360 million a year!
Obviously that's a big if.Comment
