Personally, I couldn't have been more delighted or pleased that broadcast television boxing is here to stay and not going anywhere because the last thing I need is to watch my fights on a phone. I need a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy the fights with a couple of friends and family over to watch it with me on a big screen television and making it a social event at the same time.Comment

As long as Oscar is involved with Alvarez, I don't think Espinoza has anything to talk about, tbh.
With Golovkin no longer having any belts, I doubt that the interest from Showtime will match the types of cheques that Golovkin has been chasing.
Just my opinion, anywayComment

Showtime has been kicking ass and benefited from the PBC not going to plan. Fact of the matter is Les Moonves was a massive boxing fan and now that he is not heading CBS, the parent company, they’ve lost their biggest supporter. Les was truly instrumental in making May-Pac happen. Changes at the top led HBO to where they are now and this could well happen to Espinoza and Showtime. Showtime had the best streaming before ESPN+ & DAZN. We’ve been able to stream live fights on their app for a while now and you still can’t do that with HBO. Espinoza has done a good job. I’d say he’s done a great job if he worked with more promoters than Al.Comment

Scared money don't make money.
Showtime/CBS looked at the numbers, did the math, basically saw that they needed to generate 6 million PPV buys over 6 fights to cover their back-end, and they took the risk (also rolling their take on the Floyd fights into an expanding budget to feature the Mayweather Sweepstakes and develop other fighters).
Happy it worked out, tbhComment

Plenty of promoters have fighters fighting every 7-8 months. They just don't have a lot of fighters anybody cares about seeing.
If PBC wasn't doing something right, nobody would be asking to see their fighters more often. Before PBC started, nobody cared about the Charlos, Gervonta Davis, Errol Spence, etc.
We could go through the Top Rank roster or Golden Boy roster and finally plenty of fighters fighting less often than the Charlos, Gervonta Davis, or Errol Spence, etc, but nobody gives a **** because nobody cares about those rosters beyond one or two guys.Comment

You don't have to watch it on your phone or laptop. You can download the app on your gaming console (PS4, Xbox), fire stick and watch it on your TV. Just like Netflix.Personally, I couldn't have been more delighted or pleased that broadcast television boxing is here to stay and not going anywhere because the last thing I need is to watch my fights on a phone. Get a Roku for $29.
You can then subscribe directly to SHO for $8.99, way cheaper than what cable charges, and still watch the fights live on your TV (or anywhere you want).
DAZN is on Roku as well, as is ESPN+, FOX, etc.Comment
