  • Comments Thread For: WBC Prez is Proud of Povetkin's Performance With Joshua

Although his organization was not involved in the fight, World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman was very proud of the performance of Alexander Povetkin of Russia. Povetkin (34-2, 24 KOs), who is the mandatory challenger under the WBA and WBO, was knocked out in seven rounds by IBF, WBO, IBO, WBA world champion Anthony Joshua (22-0, 21 KOs) on Saturday night, before a massive crowd at Wembley Stadium in London.

Everything this guy says is really cringe. It's like he's a schoolgirl with these fighters which would be fine but in reality he's an old man.

How are you proud of a guy that intentionally cheated multiple times?

He shouldn’t even be boxing right now. It’s bad enough Joshua had to give him a payday because he was the mandatory.

I don’t blame AJ for facing his mandatory. I blame the organizations for not doing more to put a stop to PED cheaters.

When a boxer gets killed by a PED cheat is when we Might see some change

Yep, coming from a sanctioner it says a lot about integrity to use the word pride and Povetkin together

Mr Sulaiman has no problem with PED cheats. Especially PED cheats like Ortiz and Canelo, who pay sanctioning fees to fight for his beautiful belts.

The old man made a very good account of himself after being selected as an Anthony Joshua cherry pick opponent.
