Joshua's enormous size and reach advantage won him this fight, once he started relying on his jab, Povetkin was neutralized. Joshua won't have that advantage against Wilder, and it's still a 50-50 fight for me. Basically both flawed boxers with very heavy hands, so whoever lands the first clean shot wins. Now if Tyson Fury is anywhere close to where he was when he beat Klitschko, he would box circles around both, but I doubt he is even close to his peak and he'll probably lose to Wilder.

How do you figure Fury would have boxed circles around AJ or Wilder?

So you're assumption is because Povetkin was able to get in on AJ so easily, he'd be able to do it Wilder just as easy?

Never mind that Wilder is faster than AJ, moves around quickly, unlike AJ, and prefers to fight from the outside, unlike AJ who likes to jab into closer contact. I mean style makes fights man, you can't just assume Povetkin would get close to Wilder because he got close to AJ, two completely different styles of fighting.

Think Povetkin is going to have some success early, could even see AJ being hurt in the 1st or 2nd round and it will turn the fight into a war instead of a boxing match. Think AJ comes through it and stops Povetkin some time between the 5th and the 8th

As usual, they waited until Povetkin got old so he could only fight effectively for 3-4 rounds. As often happens, the protected fighter, Joshua in this instance, showed he was far inferior the first 3-4 rounds vs the old opponent, just like Ward vs Kovalev, just like Wilder vs Ortiz, but because they waited until Povetkin was 39, just like they waited Ortiz, GGG, and Kovalev out, Povetkin gassed and it only took a couple shots by the 25 pound bigger man to knock out the smaller old tired opponent.

Boxing in 2018, folks. It's all preplanned, WWE bull****. And for the record Joshua looked like absolute ****. This has to be the weakest era of heavyweights in the last 50 years, but they are being hyped by the promoters just to make money.

When could this fight have happened earlier? Get your timelines right. First Joshua wasn't champion, then he beat Martin, at that point Povetkin was embroiled in failed drug tests - why would AJ have fought him back then?
Boxing is like that - like a conveyor belt, new guys jump on and old guys fall off th eother end ad infinitum

Ok, now let's see Povetkin VS Ortiz.

Ortiz is too strong for Povetkin. He will knock him out even sooner and faster than Joshua. However, I will comment on this though. Joshua definitely got a real scare in there from the old man tonight. If only he had Ortiz' legs, power and chin. Joshua would have been in some real serious trouble. Ortiz would have stopped him.

He was never wobbled by Spilka. Wilder doesn't get hit as much as AJ, that fact has been pretty evident in their last couple of fights. Wilders foot speed is much faster than AJ's as well as his hands, Povetkin was able to close on AJ because AJ fights a mummy style, he barely moves his feet and jabs into his opponents so he can fight closer. Wilder is always moving, his movement is quick and awkward, he also prefers to fight from the outside and avoids close contact as much as possible. It is more likely that Wilder would tie up Povetkin when he comes in, eventually Wilder would catch Povetkin rushing in, and the fights over. Povetkin would lose to Wilder in devastating knock out fashion, not unlike the Spilka K.O..
