you don't sign to fight knowing your going to get smoked.
That is not boxing and if fury gets knocked out which is almost certain and then that kills the rest of his career just because he wanted to prove he is brave but he is nowhere near the level which he should be.
Then that is not brave its idiotic and fighting in the staples centre where the tickets prices will be low and ppv if it is going to be ppv will also be low.
His purse will also represent that and when the dust settles fury will make alot less money than if he had given himself more time for a world title challenge.

Sources: Not even a remote chance Leo Santa Cruz vs. Gary Russell Jr. takes place on #WilderFury undercard, contrary to a report elsewhere. Fight is way too expensive. More than likely Tank-Mares isn’t on card, either. Good possibility Jarrett Hurd returns on that show, though

FWIW, if Tank/Mares is happening I'd like to see it on this card and have LSC/Russell on it's own card. So I hope that the Tank fight does end up here

Hope Ortiz gets a slot. The man needs a limelight, and this undercard would be a nice spot for him.

As for the fight itself, I am not overly pumped. It is interesting because of the backstories and because those who care about lineal stuff still hold Fury in high regard. I have long since stopped caring about lineal championship stuff in this day of cherry picking, and to me Fury is a sideshow who looked pure bush league in his last two fights.

Wilder will move around, pick his spots, and beat Fury down until he can't breathe and then pressure him until his corner calls it or Fury gets leveled ugly.
