So my question is, how did Floyd win?
Power punches don't always count more to me. It depends on the punch. Some so called power punches are taps and some jabs can knock a boxer down. I thought GGG beat Canelo by 2 or 3 points. I thought Castillo beat Mayweather by 2 points. I thought Mayweather beat Maidana by 2 points the first fight and 5 points the 2nd fight as best as I can remember.

I'm not seeing a lot of people answering the question. Just admit it, you guys make up this bull**** as u go along to suit an agenda, we've got Floyd fans crucifying a fighter for working off the jab on the backfoot and not being reckless lol.

Stop crying he lost a close decision, get over it.
You don't think Floyd fans would have complained if the judges scored the fight for maidana?

The punch counters are neutral. They just count punches and don't care how they add up so I pay attention to them after I score a fight by what I saw. It's not written in stone that the computer numbers are correct. Their numbers can be wrong. they could score misses as landed punches or landed punches as misses. They make mistakes.

Well let's say Mariana landed all his power punches in 1 round. Even though he may have landed more then Floyd it would only win him 1 round... get it?

Also there are 4 things to judge for not just landed punches.
              Ring general ship
              Defense
              Clean hard punches
              Effective aggression
When you factor in all of those, That is how Floyd beat Maidana and Castillo

They did it with it ease and out of choice. GGG did it because Canelo made him do it with his pressure....and it was effective pressure, he wasn't just doing it for show....he was landing hurtful punches. Plus, he didn't look as graceful as they did and for every jab he landed he was hit back way too many times with power punches, he looked very basic compared to Mayweather. No special effects.

the clenelo fanboys have to admit Floyd has at least 2 L's on his record right?
Those judges were basically judging a popularity contest. They obviously favored Canelo over GGG. They were looking for every conceivable reason to award the fight to Alvarez. In addition, Canelo's body language may have suggested that he wanted it a lot more too by coming forward, being the aggressor and engaging in the center of the ring, while GGG although still effective was largely fighting off the back foot most of the fight. I'm pretty sure that played a factor as well.

                    This thread again?

Floyd won more rounds than Castillo, there is no way he lost more than 6 rounds that fight and that's being generous to Castillo. It was 5-1 after 6 rounds. Floyd dominated at least 1 of the later rounds. Best case for Castillo was a draw.

And I've said it before, that Castillo fight wasn't really that close to a loss for Floyd. Madaina I was a lot closer fight IMO and I scored it 6-6.

And those are the only 2 close fights Mayweather was ever in. And you know what? He gave both guys an immediate rematch.

As a Floyd fan, I say you propose a valid argument. I think Floyd beat Maidana, and lost to Castillo the first time. I don't know if either Canelo or GGG won the rematch, I had it a draw. As for their first fight, I scored 7 rounds for GGG.
