What Irked me about Canelo-GGG 2....

Is mostly about GGG headhunting INSTEAD of breaking down the body. WTF was he thinking. By the third Canelo made it clear that he was gonna stand his ground... BODY WORK break him down. NONE OF that at all.

Canelo picked the right time to fight him and hence the win. At this point GGG should retire because his fight IQ seems to be aging as well at this point.

Man i totally agree if GGG would have thrown 3 body shots a round he would have won.

Body punching was a lost opportunity in both fights. Why you wouldn't work the body of a guy with known stamina problems is beyond my understanding.

I agree, perhaps GGG is too over confident as a headhunter. Canelo fought a smart fight and the difference could have been in the final rounds if GGG had consistently gone to the body for the first half of the fight.

the answer is easy. GGG doesn't want to risk getting knocked out! Refused to go to the body in the first fight even when that's Sanchez fight style and he pleaded to him between rounds to go to the body. AFTER the fight the entire world asked why GGG didn't go to the body. Everyone said the second fight he has to go to the body. His trainer predicted a liver knockout. And once again GGG refused. He also backed up when Canelo gave him Mexican Style.

GGG can't adjust 2 fights BOTH he was outlanded in power shots, 2 fights BOTH he had the lower connect rate, 2 fights BOTH his face was worse then Canelo after the fight, 2 fights he missed at epic levels 500 punches the first fight missed over 600 punches the second fight, Both fights no body punches from GGG for fear of being countered. All GGG can do is jab BECAUSE Canelo makes him that way! GGG made excuses for not landing enough clean hard shots in the first fight because Canelo ran. First fight Canelo whooped him off the back foot. Second fight same shyt but this time Canelo whooped him off the front foot and rearranged his face. Both fights Canelo does whatever he wants and lands his total array of punches (hooks, uppercuts, body shots, ect). Both fights GGG can ONLY jab and misses at insane levels. Canelo too fast, defense too good and GGG is scared of Canelo's counterpunching ability that's why he refuses to commit to body shots for fear of leaving his face open to something big and getting knocked out.

How can one's fighting style could be considered the Mexican fighting style when he abandons his opponent's body altogether completely? One of the hall mark's of the Mexican fighting style is that left hook to the liver; Something which Gennady Golovkin not once ever threw in 24 rounds of fighting.

Attacking te body would leave Golovkin vulnerable to the head. He was already getting battered, he would have got KTFO.

Too slow to go to the body. He'll get counter all night and possibly get tko in the later rounds if he tried that. There's a reason why fighter's who are known to throw body shots, stopped throwing when in with a different opponent. Same for Manny early on in his career, would throw 100+ punches per round but once he's in with marquez, his work rate decline.
