Sure that puts you at risk, I mean its f#cking boxing there is inherent risk by just getting in the ring to get KTFO, but the payoff was there for GGG much more than for Canelo countering with that approach.

In fact I think while Canelo would counter him early I think you shutdown Canelo's work rate & stamina to INSURE you don't get KO'd later & you could probably sweep the last 4 or so rounds with a good body attack early.

True. I only remember Abel telling Golovkin to go to the body once in the entire fight and it was some vague throwaway comment, "ok but aim lower".

Most of GGG's jabs was missing Canelo. And those were just simple jabs. There is no way GGG could land a meaningful body shot on Canelo without getting smack in the head first. He knows this, that's why he avoided throwing body shots.

Canelo picked the right time to fight him and hence the win. At this point GGG should retire because his fight IQ seems to be aging as well at this point.
Triple L lost to Jacobs & Nelo twice so what did you expect? LMMFAO!

I don't buy that at all. GGG is a world class boxer with a few hundred amateur fights & almost 40 pro fights mostly at a high level. This guy can land body shots on anyone he wants.

And like I said its worth the gamble anyway even if you are 100% correct cuz Canelo's stamina is subpar at best & breaking down his body is gonna slow him down quicker so he can counter if he wants early, but he's gonna be deadass tired in the later rounds. GGG was breathing hard around the 2nd or 3rd rd iirc & kept it flowing. Canelo started breathing heavy in the 9th or 10th & he was far less effective from then on. Imagine if GGG had thrown in some f#cking body shots to sap Canelo's stamina early on how this fight coulda went down? Mighta not even went to the cards.

I think he was distracted by the huge gash above Canelos eye. Once that appeared, he had his "target" and didn't bother to throw anymore body shots. He was having success uppercutting Canelo throughout.

Maybe he was hoping it would develop into another Rosado style fight

Refused to go to the body in the first fight even when that's Sanchez fight style and he pleaded to him between rounds to go to the body. AFTER the fight the entire world asked why GGG didn't go to the body. Everyone said the second fight he has to go to the body. His trainer predicted a liver knockout. And once again GGG refused. He also backed up when Canelo gave him Mexican Style.

GGG can't adjust 2 fights BOTH he was outlanded in power shots, 2 fights BOTH he had the lower connect rate, 2 fights BOTH his face was worse then Canelo after the fight, 2 fights he missed at epic levels 500 punches the first fight missed over 600 punches the second fight, Both fights no body punches from GGG for fear of being countered. All GGG can do is jab BECAUSE Canelo makes him that way! GGG made excuses for not landing enough clean hard shots in the first fight because Canelo ran. First fight Canelo whooped him off the back foot. Second fight same shyt but this time Canelo whooped him off the front foot and rearranged his face. Both fights Canelo does whatever he wants and lands his total array of punches (hooks, uppercuts, body shots, ect). Both fights GGG can ONLY jab and misses at insane levels. Canelo too fast, defense too good and GGG is scared of Canelo's counterpunching ability that's why he refuses to commit to body shots for fear of leaving his face open to something big and getting knocked out.
