No Dunn. First, there is no shame in a rather green Canelo losing to Mayweather. Everyone loses to him. Second, Mayweather will be 42 in February. Barring money, this is a lose-lose scenario for Alvarez. If he beats Floyd as expected, Canelo will be lambasted for waiting for a man 13 years his senior to get old before he could beat him. There are plenty of challengers in his age group. In the unlikely event that Floyd beats him, Canelo will have lost face all over again, this time to an old man.

I thought GGG once again got reminded that he was built up to lose to Canelo. This was always going to be how it played out.
I think Floyd/Canelo makes sense. Canelo needs to erase that dreadful performance in the minds of fans for him to become the true face of the sport.
I always figured Canelo would be the one to beat Floyd. They fought earlier than I thought they would. Floyd was just still too good then. Now at 41 I think he is vulnerable and ready to be beat by a younger fighter.Comment
