  • Comments Thread For: Canelo-Golovkin: We Saw it Coming

By Tris Dixon - SO that is that. Everything has been settled. It might take a while for the dust to settle in the desert but we now officially know there is nothing much between Gennady Golovkin and new middleweight ruler Saul Alvarez and that if they meet again it will likely be close and competitive. But we also know that if they have a third collision then the man they call Triple G' will be 37...

Mad props to both. Id be honest i was rooting for GGG but after i saw the fight, it was clear that Canelo wanted it more than GGG. He wins 7 out of the 12 rounds. The scorecard could be swayed anyway but looking as to who has more energy every end of the round, it was Canelo. Kudos to him. Hope GGG comes back and get the other IBF or WBO belt soon.

Look at their faces, that is why ggg lost, because canelo, just like in the first fight... Landed the cleaner harder punches every round.

Canelo was sharper, faster and more improved.

GGG wants retirement package in the trilogy.

He knows he won't win that fight.

I look at the first fight in light of the second one now. If Canelon has improved so much as everyone acknowledges and still barely escaped a second draw, isnt that in a way a proof that he undoubtedly lost the first one?

Golovkin had to KO Canelo to win. He should have known that but didn't do enough. Shame on him for not delivering a knockout and not trying enough. He can only blame himself.

Of course he won't. He is unlikely to knock Canelo out. They will fight in Vegas again because Canelo won't go anywhere else. Again it will be a Mexican holiday. And again there will be another decision. And we know how decisions are made in Vegas when a golden boy is in the ring. So yeah... he will lose the third fight. He should just squeeze De La Hoya's balls again and make him pay up. At least he will earn butt load of money. In my mind he will always be a true winner in this corrupt, shltty sport. They did it to Kovalev, they did it to GGG. Who is next truly gifted but naive fighter who will be rolling the dice against the house in Vegas?..

Very biased article. Only talks about what Golovkin did during the fight. Writers for other sports don't show this kind of bias that is rampant in boxing writers articles. Very unprofessional and misleads casuals into thinking what the writer wants them to believe.

Even if that were true, i'm not a reporter/writer. They should be giving unbiased opinions and facts. The most famous one (fat dan) is one of the worst. Boxing media is trash.
