GGG has himself to blame for not having a win over Canelo

I personally thought he should have won both times against Canelo and thought he was jobbed. But at the end of the day he did bring this on himself and should have known what was gonna happen and what he should’ve done. He made this image of himself as being this feared come forward destroyer with KO power who can’t be beat. With all his talk about fighting Mexican style, punishing him and KOing him he gave people those expectations that he would dominate Canelo. Instead he looked vulnerable both times. When he failed to fully impose himself again and not fight his usual fight this time and made it close that became his undoing. I think at the end of the day the fight was still close enough to be considered a reason to give the nod to Canelo, no matter who you thought should have won.

I think the lesson learned here is to not talk so big about what youre going to do in the ring and have people create expectations. If you don’t do what people expect you to do it will backfire. When Canelo proved GGG wrong by actually fighting the fight that he wanted and still made it tough that’s when you make yourself look bad. He asked for a “Big Drama Show” and a Mexican style fight and he finally got it, just didn’t go the way he wanted it. It is what it is.

He should have done what everyone should do and **** Canelo off entirely. Let him have his circus fights. Lost some respect for Golovkin when he went with Canelo over BJS, despite saying all the time he wanted all the belts. He went with the money and its bit him in the ass, twice. He chose the path he has to reap the consequences.

You don't score a fight based on what one of the fighters perception of is or the way they usually fight.

You score it based on what is happening in the ring on the particular night.

Saying he has only himself to blame because he didn't go for the KO is basically accepting and being fine with the fact that the sport is crooked.

I don't accept it and never will.

Golovkin did more than enough to win and imo beat Canelo clearer than the last time.

When he fought on the backfoot this time around he put a different impression on most people who saw the first fight. I think him and his team criticise the backfoot style that Canelo adopt in the first fight, so why would they fight in that way?

agree with this. at some point we must stop justyfing everything, we naturalized the fact that GGG's only way of winning this fight was by KO. why?

I agree completely, and was dumbfounded that this was HBO's argument. They were incredibly biased last night and I think swayed many peoples opinions.

GGGs job was to go in there, work the body and break down the smaller man. Instead he fought scared early and threw 9000 jabs. Canelo put it on his ass and he didn’t want to get in the gutter with him period. Canelo forced him to fight and won!

Isn't the taller fighter supposed to throw jabs?

But did it in the end? The man has made millions fighting Canelo. And when it is said and done I think most people who watched their two fights will talk about him getting jobbed in one fight and it appears most thought he won the second too. I think he’ll believe that he won both times.

Did they sway people? Go to their twitter post about who won the fight and it is nothing but people who said Golovkin won. So despite their biased coverage, didn’t hear it but I have no doubt it was knowing Kellerman especially, most people thought Golovkin won or no worse than a draw for him.
