Abel told GGG he was losing after the 7th round

Probably an accurate statement.
For all the Destroyer moniker GGG has gotten, he isn't just a puncher, he is a classic boxer puncher with great footwork that stays in his range. If the guy is moving away, he is going to him to keep his range, if the guy is coming to him, he is once again using his footwork to keep things closer to the range he wants, even if that means he takes a step back, and circling to re-establish the range he wants with the jab.
He has never really been much of a throw caution to the wind kind of a fighter, despite what people inaccurately think because of how hard he hits. Just look at how he took his sweet time taking apart Curtis Stevens, and the similar jab oriented fight he fought against Lemieux before he put them away.
You watch his earlier fights before he was with Sanchez, and his boxing style was very similar to what we saw vs Canelo.
Which plan was the better one is debatable. I think GGG pulled out the fight by a round, but thats just my opinion.Comment

All trainers deliver their message in different ways, why do you look for things that dont existComment

Known fact that you can't win a decision against Canelo. He lost every round against Floyd and he still loss on a majority decision.Comment

Spot on assessment. GGG has only ever been a seek and destroy fighter vs opponents who back up, or when they have 0 power.Probably an accurate statement.

He chose the right game plan last night imo, whatever Sanchez thinks. I dont think Golovkin has the advantage in exchanges and he knows it, Canelo is great in the pocket with his counters, combinations and slick D. GG's straight shots were brilliant though a long with his uppercut coming in behind the jab.Comment

Golovkin picked the right gameplan all he was missing were the bodyshots. We have seen time and again that when golovkin sits inside with guys all he gets is lit up.Probably an accurate statement.

Sanchez doesnt take this into account, doesnt take into account that golovkins great stamina is also due to him not throwing at full power at all times, or his age, sanchez only wanted a war, he might've thought golovkin could wiN at that but he can't, canelo has more stamina fighting(can use full power longer), is faster, slicker, younger and he should have seen that golovkin didnt want to stay there mainly due to the bodyshots.Last edited by SplitSecond; 09-17-2018, 07:40 PM.Comment
