Lol, exactly! I've been saying it for a long time that the WBC is a fuccing joke but you got a few idiots on here telling people the WBC is the most prestigious belt and blah blah blah...So, hang on...the WBC is creating a ceremonial "Trainer's Belt" to award to the "winning Dad" from Garcia v Porter...but with the other hand, they're looking at blocking guys like that from appearing in the first place?
If that doesn't sum up the state of the WBC, I don't know what is. F**cking muppets (well, one head muppet) can't figure out if he's coming or going.
Where's that fruit loop on here who claims the WBC is the golden standard?
Fucc all them piece of shet alphabet soup belts, especially the WBC!Comment

So pretending this passes, what boxers would be ineligible to fight for the WBC belt?
Garcias, Danny
Garcias, Mikey
Porters
Lomanchenkos
Furys
Eubanks
That's just off the top of my head. Who else?Comment

Terrible idea almost like the idea of making a super heavyweight division. Not wanting to give up and fighting till the end is the heart of the sport. Why kill the essence of boxing? Parents are a mental detriment for their children when they fight? On the contrary they'll be the first ones to throw in the towel if they think their child is about to get killed in the ring.
Leave the fighters and their winning mentalities alone. If you want them to be saved in case of further damage or death then make sure you have competent medical staff and referees that will stop the fight when needed. This is a terrible idea to be honest and I hope it doesn't gain any traction.Comment

Its actually true. Or at least there are a higher than you'd expect stats in ring deaths & severely injured guys that you're more likely to end up as a death or severely injured guy if your dad works your corner.
There was a thread here where I was talking to a guy who was compiling stats on it a couple years back. Was definitely odd yet eye opening.
Idk that you can legit take dads out of corners doe. Some of the best fighters in the game had their dad as trainers. What would those guys have been like w/o their dad working their corners? Its a potential what if to boxing history type change being made to boxings future.Comment
