Aren't PPV's in the States $79 or something like that? Who would pay that to watch ANY Fury fight let alone this one.

Fury is absolute garbage to watch. One of the worst fighters ever, he gets booed out of the ring against bums. Not to mention he's a drug-taking, depression faking coward who chickened out of a rematch with a 41 yr old who would almost certainly have won that rematch.

Seriously it's a total non-event, most real boxing fans couldn't give a rat's ass if they fight or not.

Absoltely there will be: if it does, say, 300K buys do you really think DaysInn is going to have 300K subscribers (even free-month subs) in the USA by then? No chance.

Plus, AJ vs. Pov will be happening while college football is in full force on a Saturday afternoon.

I bet there aren’t 300,000 people in the USA right now who even know AJ is fighting Povetkin, much less on what day that is happening. And I bet there aren’t 50,000 people in the USA who even know what DaysInn is right now.

Once he and Wilder do a press tour people will be interested.

There’s an old advertising saying: Sell the sizzle, not the steak. The hype will be huge. People will want to see these two huge fighters go at it after they start talking.

Floyd isn’t an ‘exciting’ fighter yet he holds every PPV record. No one had ever even seen Conner McGregor in a pair of boxing gloves, and yet they paid to see him in a boxing match.

(No, I’m not saying it will be as big as May-McGregor, but the fight will sell for the same reasons — two guys talking smack and generating attention.)

Floyd was a fantastic boxer to watch if you like quality boxing. Plus from a young age he was constantly fighting other World champions. After 98 Nearly every fight he had was a world title fight.

Fury has fought 1 World title fight in 10 YEARS!!! Other than that he has fought absolutely nobody that would rank as a great Heavyweight. His best other win was Derek Chisora, a total journeyman. Forget the sizzle and hype, look at his actual record (or watch his fights). It's total trash.

Floyd earned and deserved that PPV status over time. Fury is trying to con his way to it.

People using Floyd as an example why Wilder is gonna sell big PPV numbers need a brain scan.

And how many world champions has Povetkin beaten, lol?

They’re not going to sell the fight by saying “Come see the man who beat Chisora.”

They’re going to let the fighters’ talk sell the fight. They’ll put together short clips of Fury highlights (and Wilder’s) that make him look good.

They’ll say WBC champ vs. Lineal champ — most American casuals know who Wlad Klitschko is and they’ll market Fury (rightfully) as the man who beat the man and say the winner is the true champ.

Fury is 6-foot-9, Wilder is 6-foot-7. They will look impressive in faceoffs and they’ll talk it up and people will lap it up.

Again, it’s not going to be Floyd-May but it’s going to sell PPVs in America and a few hundred thousand in the UK even in the wee hours. It will be a spectacle and an event, which is what people will buy.

That's irrelevant, people will pay to see Joshua, whose had 6 world title fights in 3 years, that's 5 more than Fury has had in 10 years. He's the draw not Povetkin.

It will sell next to nothing in the UK. Fury isn't that popular here, he struggled to sell out the copperbox and his last 2 fights were such garbage they had to go on the undercard. And he still got booed.
In the States neither Wilder or Fury has ever appeared on PPV so it will do dismal numbers.

It's a seriously **** fight and IF it happens (and that's still a big if) it will stink the joint out.
