Because it was a bad investment and a swamp for money waste.

650 million (spent money) in 3 years / 50 million (new budget) = 13 years. Which means they now have 13 years to spend the same money they spent in 3 years.

Of course they'll make some profitable shows, and some not profitable - Probably more non-profitable since again the ticket sales and rights fees are not so aligned with the payment structure.

To say that PBC has been anything but an astronomical failure, is totally deluded and unfortunately comes from fanboys like IMDAZED who'd marry Al Haymon if he could, and who isn't smart enough to understand basic business.

I hope they succeed, but likely we'll just get more Showtime Championship Boxing - which isn't bad, but it was not the original PBC concept.
I'm sure they've made a decent amount of money already from advertisers and site fees from the previous shows in the time buys. Not a profit, but not a complete loss either.

Plus 60+ million over 4 years is 250 million. Plus FOX will host ppv events. Then who knows what deal they get after these 4 years. It seems like this investment was a good one.

I haven't even mentioned the 60+ million from showtime over 3 years yet.

Would people care or notice if the PBC brand completely disappeared from the shows?
Showtime and FOX would care! I definitely would care, because I think PBC has been a blessing!

There's absolutely no question that the PBC has wasted an insane amount of money in record time, and now the brand is nearly dead, no one knows what it is and frankly no one cares.

It's just showtime boxing now. Exactly like it was before PBC.

            That is the truth.
I guess FOX disagrees with you.

Well if he signs Flores, I’ll be concerned

But their investors said they lost 650.

That takes into account their revenues.

But even so, I'm still asking if anyone would ever care if PBC completely disappeared from earth? No one would because the product didn't deliver what it was intended to do. It changed nothing.

You know how many international brands on Nasdaq that were created with 1/20th of what PBC wasted in the space of 2-3 years? You'd be very surprised.

What has it blessed you with that changed something in boxing? What exactly has changed? I don't see it.

I liked some of the shows they've put on over the years, but it's nothing different than was already there. I remember when they started out, the concept was 1 champ, get rid of organisations and don't mention anyone that wasn't in the PBC fold.

Like when Wilder fought Stiverne, Wladimir Klitschko wasn't mentioned in the entire broadcast. They wanted a UFC for boxing.

And that just failed totally, for better or worse. And there's nothing to suggest that Haymon has done anything for boxing that wasn't already there 10 years ago, except pay fighters more money.

We were in the Mayweather/Pacquiao PPV era before Al Haymon brought boxing back to network TV! Everyone acts like that was no big thing but it was HUGE, especially in the states! PBC brought boxing back to NBC and CBS which hadn't been done in years! Now, because of Haymon leading the way, we have boxing on ESPN, FOX, FS1, etc.! Other than Floyd, I can't remember the last time I had to cough up $70 for a PPV on Showtime! That's change, and if you can't see that. it's because you're blinded by hate! Oscar tried to stop it, and failed! Arum tried to stop it, and failed! Just remember the next time you watch boxing on network TV, remember that it was the PBC that led the way!
