Freddie Roach Picks Tyson Fury To Beat Deontay Wilder! [Video]

Solid pick of Fury over Wilder at around the 3:50 mark. Says Fury's awkwardness, tactics, height advantage and chin can see him to victory and he believes Wilder won't be able to land the right.

Good assessment apart from the 7ft thing. He's basically the same height as wilder.

I agree with the rest though. Fury really does understand what he does best and uses it very effectively. I've always said he's the one heavyweight today that can nullify wilder.

It's feasible if Fury was in the same form as the Wladimir fight but he didn't reach that level against Pianeta. There were certain performance flaws which put him a level below his own prime. He maybe showed some flashes of it here and there but very inconsistently. He also showed a defensive liability by leaning in at a predictable angle repeatedly with hands down - something Wilder could time. It's not implausible though that he might regain his peak form against Wilder although the odds in any normal scenario would be unlikely. But this is Tyson Fury so who knows?

Everybody is wrong now and then. Fury's chin is not that good. Cunningham dropped him for a 6 count and hurt him and he is not a puncher. Wilder will knock him out in my opinion.

I think fury might be tougher than wilder though chin wise.
Vladimir hits harder than Cunningham and was ok. He maybe was reckless with Cunningham

Freddie also scored Canelo-GGG I a draw and picked Canelo to win the rematch.

well, my only optimism lies in the fact that Fury has always lowered and raised his level, depending on who he fights. That is nothing new. I mean, had Fury fought Pianeta 3 years ago, it could have played out the same way, with Fury being Fury. so with that in mind and being a fan of his, the performances so far don't concern me. But that also doesn't mean i'm confident he can get back to what he was either, i simply don't know.

As you said, you just never know with Fury.
