    Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: If I Was 28, 29 - I'd Have KO'd Mayweather's Ass!

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya is confident that he would have beaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. - if the two of them had fought a few years earlier. They collided in 2007, when De La Hoya was 34-years-old and Mayweather was 30, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Floyd s getting dissed recently. D!h wouldn't best Pac though.
There's a case Dlh might.have lasted distance against Pac in prime but that's about it..

Talk is cheap , Oscar had his chance with 20lbs weight advantage and he came up short.

Mayweather was even more potent when he was younger with way more mobility and accuracy. No doubt he would have knocked out Dela Hoya. No version of Deal Hoya beats Mayweather. Mayweather had been chasing this fight from the days they were both with Top Rank.

be quiet pac was on that ariza shake then and they drained delahoya to 147, all pac wins during that time are questionable in my eyes they also drained cotto to 144 lol.

Well, delahoya at his prime at 147 is no cake walk for any atg stylewise.
Saying mayweather beats him there or vice versa as a forgone conclusion is BS. Cause we’ll never really know.
At 34 Oscar managed to win 4 rounds. And was hangin in there in some.
He has the height, the speed, the jab, the reach, the power and the chin to make what he’s saying right now possible during his prime. And he’s entitled to think that.

You were only 34 when you fought Floyd, yet you waited until GGG was 35 to make the Canelo fight. I happen to agree that prime Oscar beats Floyd, I mean, that's obvious seeing as how past prime Oscar fought Floyd even at worse, but you can't make comments like this without exposing that the Canelo-GGG fight is also a farce. Should have happened 4 years ago. Even BHop has admitted on multiple occasions that GGG is old. In fact he admitted GGG was old like 3 years ago, so just imagine how past his prime he is now.
