Yeah, the rematch agreement probably wasnt well thought out. if they can't come to an agreement of the specefic contract they can make an agreement with alvarez promoter but alvarezs team doesnt have to say yes.

Kovalev is HBO's 3rd biggest attraction. Losing him, willingly shows their boxing budget is in the gutter.

the obligation of the rematch would have an already agreed upon amount for Alvarez, they just cant say "we'll put it on an app and you'll make 50k" I dont think ESPN will be able to afford the bout.

exactly why HBO is in the can. The rematch will be epic because kova's career is on the line. Showtime is bossing, toprank is on espn,Lil G's on his way out and sour-ul alvaroidz is a cheater. Pay the dam fee and show the rematch.

Kovalev is finished, and HBO just knows it.

writings on the wall, HBO is getting out of the boxing business. If they pass on this, then theyre severing ties quicker than I expected.

Guess the rumors are true, HBO is doing away with boxing. I suspect the few guys they have left will all end up on ESPN.

If HBO wants to buy the rematch at a lower price, is it possible that their budget has been cut again? They don't show enough boxing for them to have exhausted their budget and super flyweights are cheap!
