The protest was recently made by Golovkin's team and
there has been no report of the NSAC having ruled the
gloves to be sub-standard. Furthermore, the commission
would not have approved the gloves in the first place had
they been suspect. If the gloves were approved previously,
then yes, Golovkin's complaints are frivolous and insulting
towards the commission.
They are standard gloves with no special construction that
would give any advantage over other gloves.
Golovkin is complaining as a tactic to get under Canelo's
skin, not because the gloves are suspect. Sanchez knows
that Golovkin cannot do anything differently than he did
in the first fight, so they are hoping mind games will give
them an advantage.

just being feminine.

Golovkin fans are acting like Canelo is trying to use
'the infinity gauntlet' instead of boxing gloves.

Why is this dude acting like introducing a new product on this sort of world stage is common-place? Just because they've given the go-ahead for a fight on the 13th, doesn't mean it should be used for a 12 round fight. There's a reason why there's rigid testing for any new product, in any market.

Canelo's choice of gloves for the 1st fight always intrigued me. Why wear Winnings 10oz when Winnings are known the world over to be the greatest pillow for your sparring partner's face, not something you want an actual opponent to avail themselves of. And then you have the fact that Canelo wore exclusively endorsed Everlast MX's several yrs after wearing Grants, and there was footage of him hitting an Everlast Hydrostrike aquabag in Everlast MX 10oz like 3 days before GGG 1. But then Winnings for fight night? Weird.
