But the analogy had to do with gaining a competitive advantage against an opponent regardless of the sport.

And you understand my point wasn’t to support Canelo? I stated that I agreed with Abel rejecting the gloves several times already. The analogy had nothing to do with that. Again, it’s about gaining a competitive advantage and Abel is making sure none are gained. He can’t take their word for it that they are using them in training and they are safe. And in Abel’s own comments, he mentioned rejecting the gloves because they have never been used in a championship fight before. He didn’t want them to fall apart during a fight and have to be repaired, possibly halting the momentum of GGG by Canelo getting extra rest. And he is contesting based on that BUT he is also using that because he is su****ious based on everything that has already transpired. So he is protecting his fighter who is like a son to him at the same time. Abel doesn’t have to trust the the creative engineering with those gloves, especially if they haven’t been tested or used in a championship fight. And he would be a fool to not protect his fighter, especially with the Margarito fight as a reference for everyone to look back on.
And I’m a boxing fan personally. I’m not a fan of any particular fighter. I’m not a fan of any sports person. We all put on our pants the same way. I’m a fan of sports and competition. Big difference.
there is no one arguing with you..no need to get so defensive

p.s it DOES have to be overstated, as fighter safety is paramount

No but I'm positive he would use a glove where the padding might shift or harden under use and cause severe damage to Golovkin. They don't have to split open. Who knows whether the padding in Canelo's gloves is the same as the padding in the gloves to be tested in the September 13 bout. The trainer supplying his fighter with gloves that he made is asking for abuse. Hopefully Golovkin annihilates Canelo and rids boxing of this cancer.

As to the gloves, this is way too soon to use them. These gloves need to be tested in regular bouts and undergo lab tests in the US, as well. Canelo asking to use his own personal brand of gloves is very su****ious.
Nelo looks the same. lil g will lose again. ALL the excuses won't save lil g.

              Canelo will loose.
Nelo is the superior boxer & won the 1st fight. lil g's skills are very limited & he has no defense.

              Nelo win win again.

Those gloves had already been approved for use by the
commission. Canelo was probably just wearing those gloves
to support his trainer's business, but I doubt he really cares
if he has to chose a different commission-approved brand.
Approved or not these gloves should bever be used by anyone associated with the trainer.

Doesn't sound like Triple G is making any noise to me it sounds like Abel Sanchez is doing his job as a trainer.. I don't believe Triple G gives a **** about anything but dropping sets on Canelo

The protest was recently made by Golovkin's team and
there has been no report of the NSAC having ruled the
gloves to be sub-standard. Furthermore, the commission
would not have approved the gloves in the first place had
they been suspect. If the gloves were approved previously,
then yes, Golovkin's complaints are frivolous and insulting
                    towards the commission.
They are standard gloves with no special construction that
would give any advantage over other gloves.
Golovkin is complaining as a tactic to get under Canelo's
skin, not because the gloves are suspect. Sanchez knows
that Golovkin cannot do anything differently than he did
in the first fight, so they are hoping mind games will give
                    them an advantage.

If they are approved then why should they not be used?
