3. Surely you know that sparring gloves are bigger, and you don't use the same gloves in sparring as you do in a pro fight?
SAME BRAND GLOVES SHOULD BE SAME DURABILITY NO MATTER

This has to be the first time in history any boxer is enough of a petulant diva to demand that they get to wear gloves that their trainer specially made to give them an advantage without them even being tested first.

After avoiding testing for Smith and Chavez and then getting caught using clenbuterol for GGG, I can understand why Canelo is looking for another unfair advantage this time. But his trainer should just do a better job of training instead of giving him drugs and designing questionable new gloves.

We'll see just how bad your lord-and-master gets outclassed in 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to a great card, watching it on a huge screen at a theater.

as if complaining about gloves that have never been sanctioned in a world title fight is whining..its a legitimate argument and canelo should be in no position to make demands.

Sparring and training gloves are MUCH more durable than fighting gloves, especially if we’re talking about fighting gloves with horse hair inside. Even Winning fight gloves have a completely different padding distribution when compared to their training gloves.

One’s made to hold up for at least one training camp while protecting your hands and your partners, while the other’s made to hold up for at least 12 rounds while you pummel your opponent. Fighting gloves are not made to last a long time at all.

Well that would be for the commission to decide. To think that Alvarez team would use a glove they didnt think would last 12 rounds is a little naive. When considering how a torn glove could negatively affect Alvarez in a fight, there is no net benefit.

1. How will he or his team determine exactly when the glove will tear and need to be replaced? Will it just magically tear when he is tired but not while he is winning a round or has GGG hurt?

2. That is exactly what the rules say. They can use whatever brand they want as long as the commission approves.

I'd challenge you to be better but I don't know if you can.

A few people may want to re-evaluate their thinking.

Those gloves pass stringent quality control tests at the factory.

Golovkin's complaints are frivolous and insulting towards the commission. They are standard gloves with no special construction that would give any advantage over other gloves. Golovkin is complaining as a tactic to get under Canelo's skin, not because the gloves are suspect.

Do you guys understand what HIS complaint is. Untested....ohhh boy. What fighter is going to go into a fight with a glove that might tear and potentially cost him an opportunity to get a KO or TKO because the glove tore while he was applying pressure.

Lastly, who cares what gloves a slapper wears. GGG said Alvarez punches felt like slaps. Gloves that meet the 10 oz. padding requirements aren't going to change that.

Why is this dude acting like introducing a new product on this sort of world stage is common-place? Just because they've given the go-ahead for a fight on the 13th, doesn't mean it should be used for a 12 round fight. There's a reason why there's rigid testing for any new product, in any market.

I think what they are really worried about is that the padding may not hold up and Golovkin will get cut.

Saul's trainers made "No Boxing No Life" gloves that were just used in an 8 rounder. Can you imagine the controversy if these had in fact been used in the GGG fight?

"There appears to be a big crease in Garcia’s glove as he is fighting. The California athletic commission last week ruled the “No Boxing No Life” gloves were unsuitable until some design changes were made.
