SO THERE'S NO SPARRING DURING TRAINING? OK, GOTCHA
    2. Even if Canelo says they were used for 12x3 rounds sparring, 'Canelo says it's true so it must be' is your own logic, most people don't follow it. You'd need actual testing under stringent conditions by impartial observers, not by Canelo himself.
    3. Surely you know that sparring gloves are bigger, and you don't use the same gloves in sparring as you do in a pro fight?
SAME BRAND GLOVES SHOULD BE SAME DURABILITY NO MATTER
    4. Sparring is not more intense than an actual bout.
OFTEN TIMES IT MOST CERTAINLY IS

This has to be the first time in history any boxer is enough of a petulant diva to demand that they get to wear gloves that their trainer specially made to give them an advantage without them even being tested first.

After avoiding testing for Smith and Chavez and then getting caught using clenbuterol for GGG, I can understand why Canelo is looking for another unfair advantage this time. But his trainer should just do a better job of training instead of giving him drugs and designing questionable new gloves.
We'll see just how bad your lord-and-master gets outclassed in 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to a great card, watching it on a huge screen at a theater.

If they're Eddie's new gloves, that brand, sparring or reg gloves durability should be the same, right?

                Complete nonsense.

Sparring and training gloves are MUCH more durable than fighting gloves, especially if we’re talking about fighting gloves with horse hair inside. Even Winning fight gloves have a completely different padding distribution when compared to their training gloves.

One’s made to hold up for at least one training camp while protecting your hands and your partners, while the other’s made to hold up for at least 12 rounds while you pummel your opponent. Fighting gloves are not made to last a long time at all.

                  ???

                  Two points here:

1: If the glove was less durable, it might have to be replaced giving Canelo a time-out he might need.

2: You are in essense suggesting that every boxer can wear whatever kind of glove he wants to wear as long as it meets regulations.

                  You are not very clever.

                    1. How will he or his team determine exactly when the glove will tear and need to be replaced? Will it just magically tear when he is tired but not while he is winning a round or has GGG hurt?

                    2. That is exactly what the rules say. They can use whatever brand they want as long as the commission approves.

I'd challenge you to be better but I don't know if you can.

Lastly, who cares what gloves a slapper wears. GGG said Alvarez punches felt like slaps. Gloves that meet the 10 oz. padding requirements aren't going to change that.

                      Well said you two!

Saul's trainers made "No Boxing No Life" gloves that were just used in an 8 rounder. Can you imagine the controversy if these had in fact been used in the GGG fight?

"There appears to be a big crease in Garcia’s glove as he is fighting. The California athletic commission last week ruled the “No Boxing No Life” gloves were unsuitable until some design changes were made. Bennett said he was aware of what appeared to be a crease in the glove and said he would investigate."
