Kovalev team has until October 4th to request the rematch. It says he plans to, but they still are yet to submit anything.

October 4th last day to excersise the rematch and Feb 4th is the last day possible for the rematch. Or it becomes void.

Good for his manager. This is why I love Bivol and his team. But, I wish they would chase the best guys at 160, not 175. Bivol is the same size as Jermall Charlo and Billy Joe Saunders, therefore he is at a huge disadvantage at 175. We saw it his last two fights, he fought two full size light heavyweights for the first time in his career, and he hit them with everything over 24 rounds only to come out of it with one knockdown. At middleweight Bivol would be a true knockout artist and ELITE fighter, which is what is really needed for him to be a PPV star. At 175, I'm not sure the ceiling is as high for Bivol.

Are you sure he can make 160? Hasn't he always fought at 175?

If he had the same culture of the USA to drain down to 160 like Andrade Jacobs and Charlo do, that would make him a unified champ. Don't know why he doesn't drain down to 168 he should make weight easy.

I would love to see Bivol vs Beterbiev in December, doubt it works out that way though

He should fight Karo Murat if Murat beats Sven Fornling on 9/15.

Murat is the top ranked IBF contender (at #3; 1 and 2 are vacant), #3 in the WBA, #5 in the WBC, and he's the IBO champion. Obviously the IBO belt isn't a "major" world title but it's being held by a legit contender and it's an extra belt to add to a potential unification with one of the other big 3 belts later on.

Honestly he looked like a 4-round fighter to me last time out first time I’ve seen him.

Came out fast, opponent didn’t fold, then he hopped around and threw a few jabs here and a few jabs there, never really tried to pick it up again and faded badly to give some round away at the end.

I don’t see what the excitement’s all about.

Wow. HBO is either really dropping the ball,
or they don't want to see Kovalev destroyed again,
hoping to keep their eggs in the Kovalev basket.
Is he under contract with HBO for how many fights?
They don't want to get stuck with a loser more than
they already are.
