No he's not.

He's a Soviet Kazakh who's father is Russian and mother is Asian.

He's half white and half Asian, not just Asian.

It technically makes him from central asia but the line between central asia and eastern europe is a bit blurred, Kazakhstan is a lot more closely tied to Russia than to Afghanistan -- he has an eastern european style, not inauthentic at all
