Race has had nothing to do with Golovkin's place in the sport's current market. Tom Loeffler has carried out his duties keeping Golovkin in the public eye. Roc Nation never made much of an effort promoting Andre Ward.
3 of Golovkin's 4 fights on the west coast have drawn sellout crowds from a largely latino fanbase. I'm sure those fans are looking beyond Golovkin's skin color when buying tickets to his fights.Comment

No he's not.
He's a Soviet Kazakh who's father is Russian and mother is Asian.
He's half white and half Asian, not just Asian.
He also looks white/Russian, so he's white. That's how people see color.
Like Ward is half white, half black, but he looks black, so he is not accepted by white folk as one of theirs. GGG is accepted because he looks the part.By that logic Canelo is Irish, right?Do you understand what Soviet Kazakh is and what it is to have a Russian father?
You said he's Asian.
He is not, he is White/Asian, due to his white father and Asian mother.
I am not talking about the technical geographical location of where he was born. I'm talking about what's in his actual dna. He is a white/Asian man, not just Asian.Comment

No.
To the best of my knowledge Gennady himself is "spiritual, but not religious", but his family is Russian Orthodox Christian. As you will recall, a fight of his had to be canceled due to his father's death, which was followed by 40 days of mourning; a Russian Orthodox tradition.Comment

Lol. You make some valid points but unfortunately when GGG was at his ultimate best if you like, his division was not stacked with any major killers. I can’t argue with you when you say Canelo did put off facing GGG because that stunt in Canelo creating his own 155 weight division was ridiculous. However, don’t pretend that GGG didn’t want to challenge himself either. He had a fighter by the name Andre ward that he flirted with the idea of facing. Even willing to face other fighters in his weight division such as Carl Froch but not Ward.Did you just admit GGG, formerly one of the best at cutting off the ring in all of boxing, now has "slow feet"? So what does that tell you about how long Canelo waited to make this fight and why the fight only happened after GGG's 35th birthday?
Anyway, I don't care about that other stuff so much as I just want to see some justice in boxing for once. GGG would have won in his prime without controversy. He was ducked by sooo many guys that would have given him the resume he deserves if they'd fought him. He got cheated out of the first fight with Canelo. He deserves this win. He deserves tons of other wins, too. The fact they waited until Canelo is at his absolute peak between speed and power, age 27-28, while GGG was at his weakest, is just more boxing bull**** and I can't support that. The fact GGG had to do year round testing, Canelo didnt, is something I cant support (for the first fight. Now neither did 365 leading up to this fight but GGG still did it for 3 months longer leading up to the rematch. GGG has been tested the last 6 months, Canelo only the last 3. Big advantage).
Apparently Canelo's team even wants him to be able to use some new kind of custom gloves never before used in a boxing match before for the rematch, and the NSAC said no for once. So it's **** like that that keeps happening where I think rooting for Canelo is basically the same as rooting for corruption and injustice in boxing. Otherwise, I like Canelo, used to be a fan, but more than anything, this fight should have happened at least 3 years ago, and I can't root for Canelo after doing that. He fought Lara in Lara's prime, but GGG was just too dangerous. Disappointing.
Not to mention entertaining the idea of going back down in weight to 154 to face Mayweather.
So to conclude to a degree GGG was a formidable opponent and perhaps unfortunately he didn’t face a marquee name at the peak of his powers but there is no way you can also deny is that when he has faced quality opposition he has struggled
N.b I preferred the body of work of Canelo but GGG sneaked the first fightComment
