  • All of the haters talk about how Golovkin is too old, over-hyped, one-dimensional, has a poor resume, etc. And yet, if he convincingly beats a prime, "multi-dimensional", "face of boxing" Canelo Alvarez, you know what? They'll still dump on the guy.

But its all THEIR fault that GGG waited till he was 34.
Well I'm sure you're aware of all the missed opportunities he had while with Universum, which is why he left. Not his fault they stalled his career. And the other guys turned pro earlier, ranging from 5-8 years before getting their title shot. GGG had been wanting to fight Pavlik as early as 2009 I believe, but kept getting screwed over. He would've gotten his chances much earlier had he had a competent promoter at the time.

I am aware that he was happy with an IBO pseudotitle for as long period than hes had recognised world titles. He could have dumped pseudos anytime he wanted.

Still I am not knocking him staving off the top echelon since 2014, hes done a world class job since the, HoF might be on the cards if he keeps it up.

how do you know about future events?

in my eyes if he beats canelo he is a steadfast elite himself. He already has a case for being elite with the draw, and being unbeaten since 2014 too, lets see if he can build on it.

Ah, but you're not a true Golovkin hater. Those folks would crap on him if he fought and beat the actual King Kong. Watch and see what happens if he beats Canelo convincingly.

Cotto was never a true middleweight. Canelo's 1st true fight at middleweight was against the best GGG!! Canelo had faced all challengers!! Trout and Lara when all dodged both!! Neither Charlo even did great against beat Trout!
Canelo catchwight Floyd as well when Floyd was p4p king and Canelo was just 22. Canelo's resume speaks for itself

don't disagree with anything, except..... Geale was good

he had some good wins and a good little run

Geale was good, Jacobs is very good, Canelo is excellent

Golovkin is also very good, but Canelo > Golovkin..... hands down

What you should ask yourself is why he left it so late, because since winning a title he has been a good champion, hes notched up a good run of defences.

agree with the bold, but I don't see how you can say that Golovkin has stepped up, even now

he had to be ordered to fight Danny Jacobs, and Team Golovkin did everything they could to kill that fight, including losing a fight date..... and Canelo is a cash-cow so that is hardly stepping up.....

and those two guys are the only real names on Golovkin's resume

the obvious indicator is..... Golovkin could have fought Saunders, which would mean he could avoid being stripped by the IBF..... but, he selected Vanes lol
