You’re right, he was more than 180 by fight night. People inside his camp say he was 176 when IBF second day weighin was supposed to take place and that’s why he skipped it. If he was under 170, like GGG, he would have done the IBF weighin of course. Jacobs was closer to 185 by fight night

I'm a fan for sure but at this point short of a KO of Canelo, I don't think there's much he can do to salvage his legacy. The quality of the opposition where ever you stand on the reason for it, just hasn't been there.

guy waited till he was 33/34? before taking title shot against Lemieux. He left it too late. Without being "gifted" one earlier, he'd have not had one at all until Lemmy came along.

33/34 is just the wrong time to step up, although a few got away with it to be sure.

What you should ask yourself is why he left it so late, because since winning a title he has been a good champion, hes notched up a good run of defences.
