People still under the impression the Ward fight was a possibility. Their career paths were in a different trajectory. I never liked the 164 but it was clear why they asked for that. There was never a real chance of that fight happening. Ward had already admitted how hard making 168 was. ****, he said 175 was getting hard too. Golovkin, meanwhile, had the chance to fight Canelo or Cotto. No way is someone turning that down. Only GGG is asked to move up and face the best P4P fighter in the world immediately, then move back down, while Ward gets to fight 3 times before Kov. Completely different standards.

GGG could jump up to super middleweight if he wins this fight against Canelo. But their is still a Jacobs rematch waiting which would make him more money than anyone in that division. And other middleweights like the Charlo and Saunders too. And if GGG wins a close decision against Canelo, I could see a trilogy. I just think Bivol, Alvarez, and Stephenson beats him at LHW.

1) Canelo fought Golovkin in his real fight at middleweight
2) little 153lb Cotto said this..... "all of my future middleweight opponents will be at catchweight"..... so when Golovkin totally refused to negotiate on weight with the 153lb SUPERSTAR, he removed himself from the Cotto sweepstakes, AND HE KNEW IT
Golovkin LITERALLY walked away from that fight
sick and tired of hearing your worn-out lame fanboy song
also, you missed the point
the " why " matters not..... only that it didn't happen
